| Labor Day Party August 30th 12 p.m
Posted: 8/19/2008 7:30:50 PM | Several of us on another site have been getting together. We had a blast at a camp out here at my home on Smith Lake. Since your get together has been cancelled...anyone who is interested in getting together for the camp out we will be having Labor Day weekend email me and I'll check you out and give you the info. We keep it clean (pretty much) and try to keep it friends and family atmosphere. Could use a little more participation. Last time we had 20 people here but so far only about 14 have confirmed that they will be coming and we've got room for several more. Age isn't a factor. I can't email you because you set your controls not to accept email from someone of my age or gender... so, you email me and I'll give you the details... since this is at my home I don't give out the details for everyone in the whole world to know. I'm on the Cullman side 2 miles up from the dam near Lakeshore West just above the mouth to Ryan's Creek. I work on the lake as a plumber and all around skilled craftsman... need anything built or fixed I'm your man. The camp out will start Friday evening and go thru Monday. Most people are arriving Saturday and staying thru Sunday. As of now I've got 15 females and only 8 guys signed up...so we could use a few more quality guys. Ages range from mid 30's to mid 60's with a good mix of all ages and very varied backgrounds. | |

I am so interested in this opportunity to venture into another journey. I am so not familiar with the area called Smith Lake. I reside in Paulding/Douglasville area and my question to you is: Do I need a passport/visa to journey into the region called Smith Lake? Which county contains this Smith Lake? Please if possible email directions to this location and I also will submit to anyone suggesting a carpool.

Bring a tent and there is some room for you. This is a residential area and it's at my home. So, I'm kind of security conscious about giving out directions on the internet and do it all by email... so, send me email if you want to know more. Smith Lake is in north Alabama between Jasper and Cullman. About an hour north of Birmingham off of I-65... you would get off at exit 299 to get here coming from the south. | |

I may have room for 2 or 3 more but Later we will be doing it again at Smith Lake Park where there are facilities and lots more space for a big crowd... kinda having to do this one by reservations more or less....too, much more security issues since it is at my home. Looks like I'm going to have to make room for 40 people as it is...very limited parking space here but we're gonna squeeze them in. Music will be mostly country and rock. | |
