Posted: 7/17/2008 10:44:16 PM | This weekend, the annual "ManMarket" event in Columbus sponsored by a local radio station. Guys write bios, get numbers and wear 'em while the girls are chasing after them with a book full of bios to help them out. I'm pretty sure it's free for the guys for a change.

Men drink more and by more drinks than women most women on average.Cause a guy,buys for himself and for the cute girl at the end of the bar,usually.And the best way to attract guys is with women.And the best way to attract women...is free cover and discount on drinks.
The more hot women in the bar...the more Men in the bar and caching$$$$$$$$$.It's a fair trade off.When was the last time a woman bought you drinks?And men would drink more than the income they could make.Cause i doubt a lot of women would pay if the roles were reversed.And most women even on regular nights get in without paying the cover...
So as i said...it's all about economics.

If the girls are there, you need to better work the situation. But if sex is your goal, think about investing the same amount in a Pro...at least they won't feel insulted by the barter.

So what your saying is all women are gold diggers and prostitutes? They only meet men if free drinks are involved right? Got it.
But on a normal night most guys don't buy drinks. I know of maybe one woman who drinks for free. Most women buy their own drinks and do pay the cover.
They do have a mens nights with cheap beer at some places. | |

Posted: 7/18/2008 12:23:57 AM | There was a civil rights discrimination case brought in Denver about a year or so ago regarding the topic at hand which was won by the complainant. Unfortunately, it was only relevant to the one particular bar/club in the suit (and there wasn't much in the way of penalties or enforcement), so the fellow said he was going to go after all the others, one by one, to shut this sexist custom down. Haven't heard anything more since, though the guy doing it seemed to be doing a consciousness and publicity raising thing.
The best thing equality minded people can do without much effort is avoid/boycott offending establishments, and not just on the nights in question. I've made it a practice of asking about this before going in and going elsewhere if need be.
It's always been a bit perplexing to me that the feminist organizations haven't been more vocal on this, considering how demeaning it is to women in making them bait, and thus exploiting them to make money.

That comment I would say comes from the feminist movements push for equality only where it might benefit them while steadfastly refusing to step up to the plate where true equality might cause them to give something up. I can't recall an single feminist suggesting that standards should be changed in the nursing field to attract more men and thus better reflect society as a whole, why rock the boat when women are getting access to a good paying job and have been over represented there for centuries right? | |

Here's a thought...stop going out with the intention of finding sex, or expecting it for what you purchase. That should help...if you're going to do that on a night out, just hit a brothel and pay for sex straight out so you get your money's worth.
You're also quite capable of not buying anyone drinks if you don't want to...and you're more than welcome to hit your local corner bar where there's no cover charge and there's 5 people there all night.

Absolutely I would rather them pay their own way and if that means they go somewhere else then so be it, at least the women present are A) able to pay their own way and B) walking the equal rights talk.
Several states have already outlawed "ladies nights" as being discriminatory. If equal rights means equal pay for equal work it also means equal pay for equal drinks and equal pay for equal entry.
Personally, I do not frequent bars that offer discounted drinks or addmission to any gender, race etc.
And as a former bar owner who never once had a ladies night I can tell you it makes no difference. If you offer a good, clean, safe and fun place then women will pack the place. | |

Actually, many feminists/feminist organizations actually support women who work in the porn industry (the sex industry in general).
Yeah, pushing for equality so that everyone benefits. A pretty crazy concept, I know. But trust me on this one.
And can you please describe what standards in nursing need to be changed so that more males will be attracted? Last I checked, nurses aren't required to wear the sexy little dress and hat combo anymore. So please, do explain: What barriers are there that are keeping YOU out of the nursing field? | |

I'm sure they would love to accomodate you, but in most places running a brothel is illegal. The club owners aren't being dumb. If you're goal is to spend money for sex efficiently, hire an escort. It's a sure thing and if you're sober when you do it you won't have to beg and you won't be hungover the next day.
You can keep dreaming on the guy's night. The only reason that clubs have ladies' nights is that they know having lots of women in the club will bring in lots of guys who will spend all night drinking in the hope of getting laid. Even if women were misguided enough to use the same approach, giving free drinks to guys and expecting to make a profit from the women purchasing drinks is a lusing proposition. | |

I have never allowed strange men in bars or clubs to buy me a drink....I just don't want to feel obligated in any way. If I couldn't afford to pay my own way, I just wouldn't go out. Works just fine for me!

If you only knew half the things about going to the bar that actually goes on, you wouldn't be whining about not having game enough to get a piece when you go out and drop 50 bucks on drinks. If bar trash is what you're looking for, you need to learn to play it or they will play you, and you will lose for sure, I guarantee it.
heres a tip, wanna get laid in the bar on any night, not just ladies night? get to know the staff personally, front of the line, no wait status is your BEST bet! even if you have to pay the $2 cover that you're whining about, and knowing bar tenders tend to get you served first and often served free. Like I said, learn to play it. Girls love to be with a guy in the bar that gets treated like a rockstar. so... pull your head outta your a$$ and stop whining. I haven't had to pay for parking, cover, or drinks in years at the top clubs and I never wait outside - the girls go crazy, but then I'm not into sleazy bar trash, so even they help me meet the type girls you wanna be meeting. | |
