| Profile Discriptions Posted: 7/19/2008 1:41:40 PM | Doesn't seem to be any specific forum to actually place this, I would have thought in the profile review section, but there is a message there that clearly states it is for profile review requests only, and nothing else.
To that end, people who fill in their profiles. A lot seem to write too much, or too little.
To those that write too much: Few people are going to read it all. There is plenty of time to tell your life story in PM's. Writing it all on your profile for all to see isn't going to leave much to be discussed at a later date is it?
And on the other side, there are people who write nothing (why bother being here), or those that write so little, that there is nothing to start a conversation on. Is it really that hard to introduce oneself a little better, and with a tad more detail?

| Profile Discriptions Posted: 8/21/2008 12:30:23 AM | | I believe there are various sites on the internet where people can get advice on how to write a good profile. I don't think POF provides such advice except in the profile review thread. Some people don't write very good profile, I agree, either too little information or too much, but if they don't feel there is a problem with their profile, what can you do? I've tried to figure out how to give suggestions to the POF powers that be and haven't figured that out yet. If I did, one of the things I'd suggest is that they have a place here where they given some general advice on writing a good profile. Even so, though, there are probably a lot of people who would not take that advice. I go by the profile as it is: the way someone writes their profile indicates something about them, and that is one of the reasons for the profile in the first place, to indicate things about yourself. | |

Most Women Browsing: Name, profile heading, filters? Age, security, interests, spelling etc
Women are naturally more gregarious in most cases (we're the talkers/info sharers)

You plan on not telling them anything about yourself but giving your resume on a date?? Then there is nothing left to say?
Oh boy.
I would be thinking that if there wasnt common ground (before the date) to hold a decent 'interesting conversation' then you would be unlikely to get a date! lol
*sigh* The differences between men and women eh? :)
I am opposed to getting profile 'help' A profile should represent how that person really is Not the one who helped them make it

| Profile Discriptions Posted: 8/21/2008 2:11:52 AM | I think profiles should just say enough to really give insight into what type of personality one is. Most profiles read like job resumes. And they often feel like the same applicant.
Now my profile clearly shows everyone who reads it, that I am raving lunatic. I really only had make some point form notes of what the voices tell me to write. It's very simple.

I agree ! A profile just give some information not all. We have to create curiosity. The most important part is after. I test an other site intepals and it seem to me much more easy to create profile than on this one.
I would add
"Not the one he wanted to be or show. "

To those that write too much: Few people are going to read it all. At one time I had used up the entire allocation for the About Me section and was amazed at the amount of people who actually read the entire contents.
Some people really need to get a hobby or something...
And on the other side, there are people who write nothing (why bother being here) Forums...
