The success of these events depends on guests. Feel free to invite your friends, your favorites, and even those who have added you to their favorites list.
PLEASE SIGN UP BELOW SO I CAN GET AN IDEA OF WHO TO EXPECT. I've had several people come to events be VERY UPSET because someone they wanted to meet had signed up but that person didn't show up. This is very disappointing especially on a site designed to meet others. So, if you are not going to show up, REMOVE YOUR NAME,24 hours prior to the event, or you will be fined accordingly. ;) Thanks!!
SPECIALS:
FREE Karaoke Admission
FREE 2 for 1 drinks from 8 - 10 pm
SHOW UP by 8 pm so you have time to mingle before karaoke begins
Make sure you look for me to get your fish sticker and 2 for 1 drink pass.
Let's have some fun with karaoke. Club also serves liquor and bar type food.
21 and older - BRING FRIENDS. Yeah I know it's a Thursday, but you can stay for a few hours and get home in time to go to work the next day as the karaoke begins EARLY at 8:30 pm. And anyway, which is more important, sleep :( or dating :).

Posted: 7/22/2008 12:10:17 PM | Finally, karaoke in Manhattan! I would love to sing with my Fellow Fishers. I've been doing a lot of open mics lately with pianists and jazz trios. Last month I sang with a 12-piece big band... a dream come true! Haven't done karaoke in a while but I'm ready!

First, poll is over & event will stay this date. I'm deciding between 2 clubs to see which will give us better food and/or drink specials. Both clubs are midtown/uptown, not in village so plan accordingly. Will post info. VERY SOON.

Posted: 8/2/2008 7:10:23 PM | Since you're looking uptown did you consider Coogan's? It's around the corner from me and a great place. It looks like Cheers, with glasses hanging down above the bar. It's very accessible by train and there's parking available. They have karaoke Thursdays, Saturdays and Tuesdays. We could easily take over the table area in the back of the bar. I know the owners.

SORRY for the delay in posting which club, but I'm waiting for one to get back to me. I'm trying to get us the best drink specials I can and have to speak to each owner about it, and there's one left for me to speak with. I should have it posted by tonight.

Posted: 8/4/2008 1:31:11 PM | I'm sorry but I really have to disagree about Coogan's. It's a nice place but it's usually very crowded. You could wait forever to sing one song and the idea is to have the support of POFers around to support the singers from the group. The back is way far away from the singing area and I find it to be a bit pricey also.
This is just my opinion but I've also been in the business for over 15 years. | |

AnyARaquel: Very sorry, but Wed. came in with least votes, so had to stick with a Thur. Try to make it and say hi.
CoachAndrew: I tried a few places, but was looking to get us a good drink special so the guys could save some money so they could afford to take us out on a real date. ;) At this event we'll all have to talk and see if the club meets our standards for our 2nd Manhattan get together. If not, we go to another one. There's 70 of us, we have bargaining power. :) :) :)
