Posted: 8/4/2008 9:53:55 AM | It may be my age, (or maybe it's just me), but I do not find ladies with tattoos and piercings attractive in the least, and I cannot imagine "the look" once they start to age, and the skin gives in to gravity, (as it will, with all of us). Seriously, are there guys out there, (who do not have tattoos themselves), that are attracted to women with tats and piercings?

Posted: 8/4/2008 9:58:19 AM | I do not have any tats for just that reason....how horrible they look with they get older and in most people, the ink will fade or bleed. My best friend cringes when he sees a woman...any woman with tats, also for the same reason. We both believe it is a crying shame what Angelina Jolie has done to her beautiful body, not to mention so many other people...male and female!
I met a lady last year who had a tat of a rose on her chest above her heart. She made a joke about some day it becoming a long stem rose....and she is so right...long stem and wilted! | |

As far as "Later in life" is concerned, sometimes I think men with combovers, bald spots with mullets and long nose hairs are offensive. Mature women with their midriff exposed, showing their navel - which looks like a zit being popped - is more offensive.
I believe in moderation. But then again, a tatoo is a statement from a specific time in one's life. Combovers and "Zit" pits in the stomach are more of a denial thing regarding age. | |

I t shouldn't be something that affects you anyway as this is a trend set by people who are in their 30's at the latest now....much too young to be looking for you anyway.
Different generations have different looks and different trends--hard for people outside that generation to get used to.
Kinda different to me when I see a man in his thirties with piercings in his brow/lip or tattoos whatever....but they aren't hurting anyone so I don't really care and am much too busy to wonder how it will affect their skin in the future and I doubt they are much worried about what it will look like 30 years from now as they are probably enjoying their 'today'. Besides people are different--if everyone did the exact same things you do it would be quite a boring world. To each their own.

I have my ears pierced 4 times but, barely wear all of them at the sametime. I have a very tiny diamond stud in my nose... to which people always tell me I have a "sparkle" on my nose & try to wipe it off! LOL
And I have one tattoo on my left ankle.... it's of the breast cancer ribbon. I only got it last year but, this is something no matter my age I will cherrish as I am a "survivor" of breast cancer. Plus when I'm older and elderly I can just yank up my tube socks to cover it!! LOL
I also plan on getting another tattoo this year. It's a memoral tattoo for my son, as he passed away earlier this year. I am getting it somewhere where it is for me & Only Me!!

As for piercings- well I guess it all depends on where they are on a person. As you get older I would think you would want more stimulation, no? lol Some piercings offer that lovely little advantage  | |

Posted: 8/4/2008 1:56:04 PM | While I would not have gotten a tattoo if I had a "do-over" in my life, I don't actually regret it either. After all, what's done is done.
I have difficulties visualizing the back top of my shoulder blade sliding anywhere anytime soon. My tattoo is 30 years old now (I'm 51), and it's still in the exact same spot I had it put.
It's not on a fleshy area, so where's it going to go? Unless of course I'm in some hideously permanently bone disfiguring kind of accident, then I suppose maybe, just maybe, it could end up on the ankle of the opposite side of my body, or perhaps even on my neighbour's nose....
In the end though, it's to each their own, isn't it?
If someone wrote off all I have to offer merely because I have a tattoo, then so be it.
My I - you crack me up, but also (as usual) your comedic take on things once again has more than a ring of "sad but true" to it.

And as for when I'm older? Who says I'm going to live that long that it will even matter? Besides I think more people need to live for today and I mean LIVE not exist.
I don't understand why it's that big of a deal when I'm in the nursing line I'm thinking my pick up line will be "Wanna come over and play a game of guess that tattoo?"

Oh yes, there are tons of guys out there who are attracted to us bad women with tats and piercings! Let me tell you, guys are always VERY interested in knowing if I have more tats and especially with WHERE they are located! lol
God forbid our skin sags... lol I'm sorry but that argument makes me laugh every time. Unless someone goes through major weight changes, that skin is going to stay pretty much there for a long time. And at that point, when it actually start to sag, we (again us bad women with tats and piercings) won't care one iota about the look. | |

So, unless I'm wearing a top that is low at the back, you would never think I had any tats, and if we met, got along great and maybe even fell in love, would you drop me like a hot potato when you saw them? | |

I don't see how this concerns you though. How many 63 year old ladies are there with tattoos?? I don't believe it was a common thing to do back then. Seems you'd be too old for anyone with a tat anyway. Which works out good for you.
Although I don't much fancy tattoos I certainly wouldn't judge someone for having one. I couldn't imagine saying "he is everything I ever wanted in a man but I can't be with him because he has a tattoo" That would be ridiculous. | |

1. I think there is some phenomenal artwork out there and if a person chooses to put it on themself, I'm grateful to see something I wouldn't see otherwise.
2. I think it's something to show they are capable of commitment.
3. Some are hidden in places only few get to see. I like the challenge of being one of the privileged few. It can also be an indicator of trust if you get to see something normally hidden.
4. In my mind it's kind of stripperish and sexy.
It's not important to me what they will look like later in life. We all get older and everything looks different. You think a tattoo looks ugly? Look at an 80-year-old butt. I'd prefer a saggy tattoo as a distraction. :)

While my view may negate the possibility of personal infliction of such a practice, I would hope that any discernment be appropriately measured. By 'appropriately', I am under the opinion that I would not discount the Love from another individual on this single basis (tattoos rate just above what? nail polish colour?). In comparison to my 'important' compatability items...this for me is a non-issue (and like I said...some can be sexy).
Attractiveness is only skin deep, as is a 'tat'...no biggie either way. Personally, this question has created more concern regarding "the way I'm going to look" due to sagging and aging (Oh, wait a minute...it's already started!...Ahhh!)...but such is life. I'm attracted to inner beauty...and that is what I shall find...tats or not.
