I hear tell that there are some females in town, coming into town and live outside of town that need pappabear to host another wrecker before we little peons get a chance to establish ourselves into alignment with the 12 step program. When is it going to be, anyone have a suggestion or three??

I would like to the "Wrecker" be held at a different venue beside the Roads. I have a few suggestions, but they are out of town and it would be difficult for people who don't have a vehicle to get there. How about the Ranchman's or The Palomino?

Hmmmm....Ranchman's.... POF events have been tried there before, but the management are a bit on the intellectually challenged side apparently. POFers that came to events that were reserved for over 100 people were unpleasantly surprised to find only 4 tables available from these reservations on 2 occasions. I could try again, but seeing how the Ranchman's treat their patrons, nothing can be promised. Whattaya say guys...try a REDNECK WRECKER at the Ranchman's?

I have attended a POF party at Ranchman's... coughcoughyearsagocoughcough LOL and it wasn't that bad, I quite enjoyed myself.

I hosted a non POF Event at The Ranchman's and the management and staff were great. I also suggest The Palomino??????????????

Count me out. I live too far North to be drinking in the South! No way would I leave my vehicle there and cab it home (oh, and then cab it to go retrieve it!). The Roads seems to be more central, easier to get to?

The Palomino is right on the C Train Line so it has easy access for all. It would be easy to take the C Train to a station and then cab it home. No, the Roads isn't a central location for all.

I was talking the Ranchmans being too far south. The Palomino looks ok, but one would have to leave before the C Train stops running right? I'm not a huge fan of downtown at night, but that might be doable. No location is 'central' for all, but the roads is probably easier to get to, being just off a highway and many main roads and all, that's all I meant.

Honestly, it doesn't matter where the event is hosted, you can't please everyone. I believe a different venue would be nice, The Roads has been done many times. I believe it's been a while since there has been a POF Event at The Ranchman's and I'm not sure if there has been one at The Palomino or not.

The Roads has been done many times. I agree the Roads has been done many times in the past. In fact, I have hosted several events at the Roads myself. The last one being the St. Patty's Day Shaker. I live in the deep south but still prefer to drive all the way to the North to party at the Roads versus Ranchmans, which is a hop, skip and a jump away from me. Anytime I have hosted at the Roads they have gone out of their way to accommodate our group and have been absolutely FANTASTIC! Maybe if a different venue is wanted, all I can say is plan it and they will come. As for Papabear's Wreckers, I don't think they would be the same anywhere else!

Hmm, I'm not sure I understand all the jargon with the peons and getting in line for the 12 step..... But it does sound like a gathering with dancing whooo hooo!

wow. I live WAAAAY NORTH OF the city, and will still drive down to the Ranchman's... in a gas guzzling SUV even. LOL I've partied there before with POF'ers, and had a GREAT TIME, I'm sure some of the pictures could still be lurking around here somewhere.... For as long as I've been a member of this site, there have always been issues over where parties are held. YA CAN'T PLEASE them all. So get over it. Don't go or go, its not the end of the world.

The last time I was at a POF party at Ranchmans it was a blast.I would definitely come down for a Wrecker if you have it their.Nice big dance floor.I might even make up a shirt for the occasion.Now Duffster can you do a 16 step?Or is that 4 steps too many? Just giving you a hard time.

I'm considering hosting an event at The Palomino in Calgary or in one of the small towns outside of Calgary....stay posted . Sorry, not all of uslike the Crossroads. BTW, suggestions were requested and not hijacking a thread for I can read. When is it going to be, anyone have a suggestion or three??

I haven't been to any Calgary bars in years, but I've been to the Roads more recently than Ranchmans. If I recall correctly the Roads has live music and Ranchmans doesn't. Depends when you book it for and what band is playing. (Sometimes live music is a bad thing )

LOL...your right sometimes live music can be a bad thing...LOL. I believe both the Roads and The Ranchman's offer live music on the weekend. I believe live entertainment at The Ranchman's starts Thursday night and I'm not sure about the Road's....I think Friday nights?
