Posted: 8/17/2008 6:32:51 PM | I usually see a lot of girls seeking to hang-out. Does this mean they are not interested in finding someone to date but rather want to find more friends?
For me the only reason why I would use this site is to find someone who is seeking to date as well (since this is supposedly a dating site). I have a lot of friends but I never find new ones on the internet.
Is this in anyway true? | |

And since I met this guy here, you can see that we do indeed date people we meet online. Sometimes it takes time. | |

I come here to chat with different people and make new friends especially ones from other countries as I am very enriched in different cultures. Dating from this site?? No way. Dating is different in the real world. You can't expect to know someone just from a picture or a profile. Plus too many married people on here looking for extra activity. Not my thing.

However, over the past year, POF has provided more dating opportunities. So, I may change my mind and actually DATE someone from this site. | |

To many men seem to be sold on the notion it is so much easier for the ladies.. I have to tell you that is NOT TRUE, and we too meet our fair share of men who are here to chat, OR the big thing is to just try and gain a piece of tail...
I KNOW men hate hearing that, but the fact is we do get hit up for that a lot, and it does sour the waters for those that aren't looking for that.
If you notice we do stay to make friends and talk to others, which does NOT exclude us from actually dating someone if they really floated our boats... | |

It's a preemptive version of the old "I like you as a friend" line. So yes, women are looking for friends ... if you're not appealing. | |

Posted: 8/19/2008 9:50:08 AM | Guess my math was a bit off, but it still looks like if you want some dates, the pay sites are a better way to go because of less games. I have had a date on here or two, but most women on here like writing more than meeting. Although women say that it is harder, it is for differnet reasons. Men stick their necks out and if they are attractive or interesting enough, the women give them the privilege of writing back. Women are most likely inundated by letters, and a lot are probably looking for booty, so they weed through more carefully. Best advise for women is to actually write the guys back  . Then keep the conversation going. | |
