He accepted and solicited money when he knew he was done.........

Buffett Suggests Edwards Supporters File Class Action Suit
C. Edmund Wright
In an interview on CNBC's "Squawk Box," billionaire Warren Buffett suggested that donors to the John Edwards for President Campaign might consider filing a class action lawsuit. "I think if I had given him money I'd probably be asking him for it back now" quipped the investor icon in a half serious, half joking manner. "I think if I were Edwards I might give up a haircut or two and return some of the money....if they (donors of the smaller amounts) had known the facts they wouldn't have sent him the money."
Buffett's main problem with Edwards was the fact that he continued to solicit contributions long after he knew the story of the affair would eventually prevent any chance of him occupying the Oval Office. "Edwards was essentially soliticing money from people to further his ambitions to become President," said the billionaire. "He knew that in effect he wouldn't be elected president....he knew the story was out there. It might be kind of interesting if some contributor would bring a class action suit on behalf of people who were led to send money to a man under false pretenses."

Buffett and interviewer Becky Quick in fact chuckled at the irony of filing a class action suit against a trial lawyer. "I've seen a lot of class action suits with less to it," said Buffett. "I would think it might be a pretty good class action suit. He knew it and didn't tell them the truth. They sent it in while they were being misled by the person who was soliciting the money."

Buffett, who seemed to warm to the idea of the suit as he discussed it, did end the segment by stating that his musing was not the result of any rumors he had heard or inside information. "I don't think I've heard of that (among DNC staffers)...and I don't talk to a lot of class action lawyers. I think those people (donors) were defrauded."

Buffett, who is supporting Obama, was not asked if he was prepared to begin speaking to a lot of "class action lawyers" if Obama and more liberal Democrats were in fact elected this fall.

If every politician stopped soliciting money because of some affair or wrong doing, no one would get elected!

And that would be a BAD result??? Heck they would have to vote for somebody and maybe not the most effective fundraiser...this may well put a brake on the "politics for profit" bunch.

It would just end the "politics to get laid" bunch. The Delays of the world would still be in stealing with both hands.

I thinking proving that Edwards knew that he would be exposed and be forced to withdraw from the primary is the big problem. As long as he was raising money as a legitimate candidate, I don't see that the donors have a cause of action against him or his campaign for fraud. After all, adultery has been a resume enhancer for many politicians in the past. It is not necessarily fatal to a candidate.

I think Buffett likes the idea because John Edwards is a trial lawyer, and not just any trial lawyer. He is the kind of smarmy trial lawyer that gives attorneys a bad name.

So at least we now know that Edwards lied about quite a few things. Looks like the baby is his.

It also looks like some people are cashing in on it to. Young the one that took the rap for Edwards has a book coming out to reveal all the facts of his agreement with Edwards.

In a book proposal floated to St. Martin's Press, Young will claim that his erstwhile boss assured him he would be "taken care of for life" if he pretended to be the father of a child his mistress Rielle Hunter bore, The Independent reports.
Young agreed, despite the fact that he had a wife and children of his own.
Asking Young to pose as the father, Edwards purportedly told him: "You know how much I love you. You know I'd walk off a cliff for you, and I know you'd walk off a cliff for me." The candidate, who was once the Democratic Party's golden boy and was John Kerry's running mate in 2004, went on: "I will never forget this. And I will always be there for you."

Funny how some will chomp on personal sexual infidelity, yet ignore the lies that cost trillions of $ and untold lives.

^^^ It's even more interesting that someone would resurrect a dead thread about a "Dem" sex scandal just after a thread is started about the newest Republican caught screwing someone other than his wife. I guess some people will never understand that pointing out that other people have done it is NOT a valid excuse for bad behavior.

"hey, if we start arguing about the other guy, maybe they'll forget about this one! Let's try it, and hope nobody figures out what we're up to!"

Just thought some might want an update since there seems to be so little news about this prominent Democrat.

Just a gentle reminder that Both Sides of the Fence need to to be cleaned out!!!!!

Most out there protesting at the town hall meetings and tea parties are not just against the Democrats. They are against all the crap going on in DC by all elected officials; Democrats and Republicans alike.
