| Favorite Quotes...... Posted: 8/29/2008 5:23:42 AM | Alright...sometimes I get pensive and do have a serious side to me! No hecklers please! I was going to add some favorites quotes to my profile but I figured that's a fabulous idea for a thread. (Now if there is an identical thread out there forgive me but I'm not one to go searching). So post here .....can be anything from the literary circles or just plain silly(hopefully it will mean something for the poster)

| Favorite Quotes...... Posted: 8/29/2008 9:49:03 AM | Sometimes its not "quick wit" or "catchy phrases" that catch anothers interest. A wise person once told me, that we each need to work on our own "core" and make changes at the root of the problem. Unfortunately we dont often see ourselves as others see us.
We are all a "work in progress" and I often think that the people we want in our circle of friends or as a partner, sees us for the good, bad and indifferent and loves us just the same.
Best quote I can think of is from the movie Bridget Jones Diary................ "Bridget Jones, I love you just the way you are"

| Favorite Quotes...... Posted: 8/29/2008 10:05:10 PM | My two favourite quotes come from (at the risk of sounding like the Simpsons' 'comic book guy') from Tom Baker in his playful take on the Dr Who character: 1)"I am serious about what I do but not necessarily how I do it" 2)"First things first but not necessarily in that order"
And, pressed for a bit of the silly, Animaniacs comes to mind. Yakko, Wakko and Dot are flying in a plane, and driving a serious businessman to distraction with their antics. At one point, Wakko leans forward and sees the bag in front of his seat: Wakko: "What's this, mister?" "It's a VOMIT BAG!" Wakko: "What's it for?" (Businessman whispers in his ear) Wakko: "What a gyp! Mine's empty"

| Favorite Quotes...... Posted: 8/29/2008 11:12:32 PM | They taught us Newton's Laws of Motion in high school. David Gerrold ( science fiction author) gave us the 3 laws of "infernal" dynamic :
1) An object in motion will be moving in the wrong direction
2) An object at rest will be in the wrong place.
3) The energy required to move an object in the correct direction, or put it in the right place, will be more than you wish to expend but not so much as to make the task impossible.

| Favorite Quotes...... Posted: 8/30/2008 2:26:06 PM | "I do think we need to explore the commitment problem, which has caused many women to mistakenly conclude that men, as a group, have the emotional maturity of hamsters. This is not the case. A hamster is much more capable of making a lasting commitment to a woman, especially if she gives it those little food pellets. Whereas a guy, in a relationship, will consume the pellets of companionship, and he will run on the exercise wheel of lust; but as soon as he senses that the door of commitment is about to close and trap him in the wire cage of true intimacy, he'll squirm out, scamper across the kitchen floor of uncertainty and hide under the refrigerator of Non-Readiness."

| Favorite Quotes...... Posted: 8/30/2008 6:48:50 PM | Just because a person doesn't love you they way you want them to, doesn't mean they don't love you with all that they have.
It's taking me a long time to become the person I want to be.
I will strive for excellence rather than perfection and I alone will determine how I measure up to that yardstick.
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? - Nelson Mandella
