Just some good people, an open road, and maybe a few bars. I figure that if we all have something in common it might make it a little easier to break the ice ... anyone interested? | |

Posted: 9/15/2008 12:18:28 AM | I get off a medical house arrest in a couple of weeks (bad leg) and will be back riding shortly after. Can't offer anyone a ride on the back, we both won't fit, but do have a sidecar... Only problem is that like me, my bike is heavy and slow... I top out at about 50mph and prefer backroads to superslabs.

This is a great idea! A few POF friends and myself are "Team Honda", we all have shadows. We love riding. Weather is going to be a factor this time of year. I belong to Rolling Thunder, we raise money for vets. This Sunday Oct 5 is Big Thunder Run out of the Batavia VFW. The following Sunday my chapter is going to Oregon IL where they are also having some events. Would love to join you guys, but my next two Sundays are booked unless we get some great weather later in the month. We will watch the post to see what you guys decide. Posted: 10/14/2008 8:28:34 AM | I reread the posts, but I didn't really see any set ride...time, date, and place. Looked like alot of suggestions were thrown out there, but not anything organized for a ride. The weather is going to soon turn on us, so if we are going for a ride together, I think that we should decide on when and where...soon.
I am planning on going on a ride this coming Sat, October 18 out of Eagle Rock Saloon which is on Rt. 71 between Ottawa and Starved Rock. It should be a great turn out! I stopped by there this past Sunday while out riding. There were alot of people who were taking advantage of the great weather and had stopped for some refreshments. It is not a very big place, but it is a very biker/motorcyclist friendly place. If you stop in there sometime, tell Moose that I sent you.
About the ride that I am planning on attending this Sat. If any of you are interested, it starts there at Eagle Rock Saloon. Sign up @ 10:30am, and kickstands up @ 12pm. There will be a party afterwards back at Eagle Rock Saloon. I had heard that the ride will be going east of the Starved Rock area as far as the Wilmington, IL area. If you decide to go, just give me a shout or catch up with me there on the ride. I am in the Joliet/Morris area, so I will be heading out around 10-10:30am (about 30+ mile to Eagle Rock from me).
