| I know what you did this summer... Posted: 9/10/2008 9:25:28 PM | Well no I don't but it would be cool to hear how everyone has spent the summer... kids are all back in school and besides looking forward to the next summer, there is nothing much left.
Even though it was a crappy summer...
How did you spend it, anyne do anything cool and exciting?
NDL and I spent the summer working mostly (of course), but we did take a week off to go camping, and a week to go to Disney World in Florida with the kids.

Even though it was a crappy summer... I loved the weather this summer!! (except the rain) It was never too hot or too humid. Most days were just perfect. I'd love to live somewhere with this climate year round.
How did you spend it, anyone do anything cool and exciting? Fixed my shed. Tore down and rebuilt my deck. Put a new roof on my house. Also had a fantastic time camping for a week with a fellow POFer I met at euchre, and then almost another whole week camping with family. Of the 13 days and 12 nights I was camping, it rained less than one hour!!

| I know what you did this summer... Posted: 9/10/2008 10:05:36 PM | We camped in the middle of a thunder storm. Luckily if was the middle of the night and we were all snuggled in our tents.
I found it REALLY cold. Thank goodness for my man. He drove me all the way to a store to buy some extra blankets! I was warm and happy and he was happy he didn't have to hear me complain about the cold!!

| I know what you did this summer... Posted: 9/11/2008 12:27:36 AM | you have a "keeper" there, Not Done - .............I hope you appreciate him!!~
Not the best of summers.........the weather was lousy (in my opinion) and I was in a car acccident.
Oy vay - that mess alone took up almost 6 weeks...............from beginning to end
It wasn't the best of summers.........nor was it the worst of summers..............
Fall is in the air now......so it's all good!!~

| I know what you did this summer... Posted: 9/11/2008 5:25:00 AM | i had a lovely summer over all, we didn't do much (i think that was part of how nice it was, lol)
we did get a few trips and activities in 'though - camping at santa's village for a few nights, going down to niagara falls for a couple of days, staying overnight in barrie and going to "retro planet" - laser tag, mini golf, arcade games, etc.. and then taking in "a midsummer nights' dream" - open air harbour front production... we also made the most of the local pizza hut's all you can eat/kids eat free/tuesday night buffets and cheap ticket deal on tuesdays at the movie theatre...
we're extending summer in that we didn't get to go to "wonderland" yet - we'll be doing that in a couple of weeks
fun times

(@ bedroom blue, sorry to hear about the car accident :( hope all is okay now)

| I know what you did this summer... Posted: 9/11/2008 6:53:04 AM | Other then work work work and more work, P and I did a lot of photography and day trips for our various photo assignments. We worked on an ad which is almost finished, along with recording the new album. Every Friday, we go to Niagara Falls and do some photoshoots at different places along the way. Then every Sunday, we would go to a beach somewhere for more work. It was busy busy busy all summer while we both worked hard to build our business. Now it is being capped off with the Toronto Film Festival, that is bringing a lot of valuable contacts our way. I did get out to one POF camping trip, which felt like I had a week vacation. When you get so busy and focused on something, a few hours to yourself is a valuable and appreciated commodity. Suffice it to say, I have become adapted to living on 3 - 4 hrs sleep a night! | |

| I know what you did this summer... Posted: 9/11/2008 7:07:23 AM | I worked - mostly 12 hour days! I have NEVER had a vacation as an adult! The last vacation I have ever had was Mexico at age 15. I really wonder what it would be like to relax and have fun?!?! | |

I found it REALLY cold. One woman's "REALLY cold" is another woman's "FREE airconditioning!!"
We camped in the middle of a thunder storm. Luckily if was the middle of the night and we were all snuggled in our tents. Okay. When I say I camped, what I really mean is I slept in my trailer in a Provincial Park. heh heh The sound of rain ona tent can be comforting, likewise with the rain hitting the trailer's metal roof.
I really came back into this thread to remind you and others that although the kids are back at school and the days are getting shorter, we still have until the 21st before SUMMER ends!! And then autumn begins, and then a few weeks later we get INDIAN SUMMER!!
And Leeanne, perhaps I can recommend a good Doctor out your way. She is in Burlington I believe. Dr. Ivana Somerov.

| I know what you did this summer... Posted: 9/11/2008 12:46:15 PM | I attended several coffee nights and a few bbqs, did a lot of walking in my favourite park, and worked many extra hours while covering for staff vacations. My own week off was spent trying to catch up on my "spring" cleaning, and visiting with friends.
I also spent some time riding around the countryside on a scooter. Almost as much fun as a motorcycle!!! Love the freedom and exhilaration..along with the company....
Still have 10 vacation days coming in early October, my favourite time of year. No humidity, no snow (yet), the air is fresh and the leaves are changing colour.

Even though me made it to Florida with the kids for a week, it was hardly relaxing VERY Exciting for sure, but relaxing? Not much, we tried to get too much into too little time. I came back needing a vacation! But it was GREAT memories to last a life time! Well, at least until next year when we go again!! For 2 weeks!! YAYS!!

| I know what you did this summer... Posted: 9/11/2008 3:33:45 PM | I was spoiled this summer. My daughter treated me to a vacation in Spain. We met up in Scotland so she could see where I lived as a child, and then on to Madrid, followed by Barcelona. And the topper of the vacation was three days at a resort right on the Mediterranean. All I can say is Wow! Sign me up to do that again. Then, in August, I travelled with a Power wheelchair hockey team to Minnesota for the power cup. Now, those guys know how to party! | |

In May I went to Vancouver for work and managed to spend a weekend with my brother who lives there. In June I went to Montreal for work and spent a weekend with my girlfriend just having a blast. My week off in July, I went to Myrtle Beach with my sister and had a great time. At the end of August my whole family met in Halifax to celebrate my parents' 50th anniversary. In between I worked like crazy...It was a good summer.
