Have any of you ever made a time capsule or participated in a time capsule with others.
I was thinking (as I sometimes do...lol) and remembering this morning something I was part of in 2000. My former sister and brother-in-law had a time capsule party for Y2K. A number of people were invited to their place and we each had to bring some 'small' item that represented something that was important to each of us during the last of the 20th century...something that had a place in our lives or life in general. We also filled out a questionaire pertaining to were we have been in life, where we are in life, and where we hope to be in life. The questionaire was kept confidential, and each one was sealed in an envelope. Then everyone put their 'item' and their questionaire in the metal container. The plan was that everyone would meet at that same place again in 10 years, and dig up the time capsule, and look at the contents. We are also supposed to look at our questionaires, and see if we are still on track with what we projected for our future.
I know my questionaire has become vastly different then what I was seeing for myself then. I was still married (tho it was shaky) and I was all about family, marriage, and my sons. Career was not important...only a job.
So now I am single and relationships, marriage, and family is the furthest from my mind....career is my number one focus now.
So, just remembering this has made me think of how priorities and life change so quickly in such a short time.
So....peeps....do any of you have a time capsule out there waiting for unveiling??

Yup in grade school - I have no clue what ever became of them or if any future kids ever found and opened them! I have also never heard of anyone else opening one and finding something interesting!

Reason for Requested Deletion: Should be obvious
3/5 have voted to delete this thread, at least 7 delete votes out of 10 are needed to auto delete this thread.

The Forum Rules state that you can't abuse the voting procedure to remove threads that follow the guidelines. For the life of me I can't find anything about this post that would make it 'obvious' to delete. I am not sure, but I believe if people abuse this privilege their voting privileges are taken away.

OT- Time capsules were popular when I was in grade school. This post has reminded me that I contributed to a time capsule in grade 6 that was buried in our school yard when the school yard was being converted from ashphalt to grass. I wonder if it is still there? I have no idea what I put in, but we all wrote something for future generations to dig up and understand what life was like for grade sixers back in 1971.

I remember time capsules being popular back in grade school. It seemed like many American schools had them filled and buried during their Bicentennial celebrations. I've heard of them being discovered during times of constructions and renovations because they were forgotten.
