| 9/11/01 [Thread Closed - See Mod Note] Posted: 9/11/2008 11:38:29 AM | | Hello everybody,I just saw a documentary on the history channel called the day the tower's fell and it brought back sad, tragic, and heroic memories along with a strong sense of pride for my country and for the heroes of 9/11 such as those ems, police and firefighter's ,not to mention the countless regular people who helped save people directly that day or by contributing money for the victim's and thier families.I just thought it would be appropriate to post this thread today to get some insight and for you to share your memories of what you were doing on that tragic day and what you remember. | |

| 9/11/01 Posted: 9/11/2008 11:47:57 AM | Hey Blake, I posted this on another site earlier to day......for me it seams to be the one aspect of things that is so easily forgotten:
Seven years ago today terrorists were successful in their plans of striking fear into the hearts of this great nation. But within moments of that success they also succeeded in doing something that no other single event in my lifetime has been able to accomplish. They reminded everyone; regardless of gender, color, heritage, economic status or political view point, of what it meant to be an American. Together we all felt the unity and pride that this country stands for and proudly stood up and treated each other the way we always should. Everyone was kind and charitable, understanding and patient. It was a utopia that we could only dream of existing in every single day. So today, don't just remember the horrors and the terror....remember the effect it had on you as a citizen. Be nice to everyone you come across today, whether they're an old friend or a complete stranger, and make this once again...even if only for one day...the UNITED States of America.
