Two possible scenarios:
- Sometimes things get "stuck" from time to time depending on server issues; Rate Me, Fans, Favourites, and those type of "entertainment" type features are at the bottom of the heap to be re-stored or re-activated, if more important items are ahead of them.
IMO I'd place less reliance on those type of features for any sort of possible match as it's known that some people just while away the hours rating, voting and the such to get the same in return to up their "popularity" in return.
- To the rest as a PSA
If you see things are somewhat stuck in certain features, log off from POF properly, try Deleting Cookies & Temporary Internet Files, reboot your PC, login and check again .
If things are still stuck then Admin is no doubt aware, or will be, and restoration will occur at some point depending on the importance of the feature - be patient as it's only him working on the tech issues.

Click on the link in my prior post, or here again --> Deleting Cookies & Temporary Internet Files.
As for a layman's definition of cookie, try this Cookie Definition.
Is there a proper way to log off POF other than simply logging out?
The proper way would be to click on the Log Out link. Some people just close their browsers by clicking on the top right hand corner red X - I won't go into the details, but it's much more important when you're using a shared computer with respect to security.

I went out to cut grass about an hour ago and had 112 favorites, an overall photo rating of 7.87 and six people on my "fans list." I come back in afterwards and I'm on 97 favorites lists (how'd I drop off 15 people's list in an hour?), my photo rating dropped to 6.94 and the fans list is full again. Plus I went from 53 votes on my photo to 36. What in the wide world of sports is going on? Whacky I tell ya! Whacky!! | |

Posted: 9/18/2008 12:15:23 PM | Well, I just checked and you are on 97 favorites' lists, your overall pic rating is 4.14 (overall) and 57 people have voted on your pic. You have plenty more than ten people as "fans."
As far as being dropped off favorites lists, that happens sometimes. Sometimes people go through and do a big clean out. Have you annoyed some people lately?
Maybe you should try not to take these things so seriously. What difference does it ultimately make, anyway? | |

Posted: 9/18/2008 1:33:17 PM | No, I sure haven't. What really is confusing is when you go to check your photo rating and they do it by male and female and age demographic. According to those numbers, I have only gotten 30 some votes. But when you click on your photo to see the overall image rating it says 57 I think. That is a large (and confusing) discrepancy. How can there be a 20 person difference between them in number of votes? Furthermore, as recently as this morning, I was rated as a 7.23 rather than the 4.74 or whatever now. It just seems......strange. And it also seems odd to have an exodus of 15 people off a favorites list in an hours time.
This is all pretty insignificant stuff and really not a major issue in the least. It's just oddities which I have noticed and found particularly strange. | |
