Damn those terrorists!!
Canada showed a survey yesterday that showed that 70% of Canadian youth feel that the United States is a Evil Empire. Yet we are biggest buyer of their GNP. The youth feel America is handling terrorism completely wrong. I have a FTA receiver and have been watching Canadian TV and I really believe they hate us down here.
They fly airplanes into our buildings! (Usama Bin Laden)
They blow up our ships (The Cole)
They Blow up Embassy's (Brittish, US, German, China, Usama Bin Laden)
They bomb trains (US, Spain, Japan, USSR)
They bomb theaters (Moscow, Japan )
They mass murder (Saddam, Hitler, Castro, Usama Bin lasin)
They behead the innocent
They attack the population with no warning.
They kill more children than war. (Saddam, Hitler, Mussolini, Kim II Sung, Kim Jong)
They believe Life is not precious.
* I believe bio-weapons are the same as bombings. So don't go there.
The United States says stop it, America says we will hunt you down and stop you. The United States follows through and we are the bad guys? Go Figure! Given the chance I would make UBL eat pig feces and bury him in a vat of pigs blood!
Spain is caving in. France has installed backup lights on their tanks. France is so far to the left they can see the ass end of the extreme right! (It's a Circle thing you have to be a physicist to understand this theory.)
If peace was really wanted in the Middle East the U.S.A. Would be out of there yesterday.
The United Sates has really been a Nation of Liberators rather than dominator's.
The populous of the United States has been more giving than any other nation in the world.
There are countries that support this type of thinking. What is wrong with going after them?
There are people who want to kill us for no reason! What is wrong with getting them first?
There are people who will not stop until we are all dead! What is wrong with stopping them?
There are people who believe it is Ok to kill innocent and children to make a point. What is wrong with killing them first?
There are people who feel freedom is evil. What is wrong with taking away their freedom to kill?
When countries get in to trouble they look to us to protect them. Go Figure.
Ok everyone it is your turn to Slam the United States and Americans. Tell us what terrible people we are.

Posted: 6/15/2005 9:10:42 AM | The problem is that bombing a city like Fallujah to rubble, leaving hundreds of thousands of Iraqis without electricitly or fresh water... its kinda like saying we're gonna solve the crime problem in Detroit by bombing it. No one denies criminals and terrorists should be caught. But I wouldn't want my whole neighbourhood bombed just because there's a criminal gang around here.
Even worse, attacking Iraq is almost like trying to solve the crime problem in Detroit by bombing Chicago. Even if the mayor of Chicago was a mob-boss... doesn't really make sense. | |

Perhaps Canadian youth has been taught the rest of your history, the part you either don't know or refuse to acknowledge.
Over throwing foreign governments so that American big business can prosper, or Governments friendly to the US can be installed, see Guatemala, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Dominican Republic to name only a few.
Installing dictators in the middle east see the Shah.
Using WMD to kill millions in Viet Nam
Arming Israel to the teeth including N weapons while telling the rest of the middle east, "you can't have any". Siding over and over with Israel in the UN while they commit war crimes on a daily basis.
The hipocrisy that IS America, is not lost on most educated people outside of the US. You see they don't hear the unending internal propaganda that you hear. Learn to live with the attacks, as I believe they will only intensify. | |

You can add Bush to this list as well, considering the number of civilians dead in Iraq since the invasion.
Also, does this mean that the US will be militarily engaging all countries where mass murder is taking place? That would be laudable. When will the first troops be leaving for Sudan or Uzbekistan?

Subjective. Not necessarily true. However, you can say without a doubt that certain Americans have no regard for the Iraqi lives being lost in the conflict.. (ex. The military isn't even counting dead civilians - a military spokesman said something like "We don't do body counts...)
So, despite only one of the things you mentioned on your list applying to Iraq, please explain why the US invaded it. In the process killing thousands of civilians and laying waste to the entire country's infrastructure...
Think really hard and you might begin to see why some consider the US to be "evil." | |

Mr. Simple, face it the world overall thinks that Americans are shit because of our invasion of Iraq and other atrocities that our current Administration is turning a blind eye too. What I would like to make all of you aware that want to bash Americans is that not all of us are in agreement with what the current administration is doing. Not all of us voted for the idiot that claims to be running our country and to lump us with him is well rather insulting. There is more to this country that our President and what he supports.
As far as what Mr. Simple originally posted....well take it for what it is worth. Most of the media is slanted one way or the other to favor what you personally want to believe. The US is undoubtably thirsty for oil (we consume 55% of all oil produced) and we know where to get it. DUH. But, we are not interested in contolling the entire oil-producing world. Not everything is oil..... we would rather have trading partners worldwide that are valuable allies and sources of commerce- and how do we repay them for the oil we incessantly quest for? Pump money in, build up infrastructure, improve living conditions, and offer hope to the nations who are satuated in wealth potential but have been mismanaged for so long, they are considered 3rd world. Where do you think doctors worldwide are trained? Mostly in the US- so they can take our superior training and better their homelands... If the US truly wanted to rule the world, education would not be allowed to anyone but ourselves- but instead we actively accept applicants worldwide because we know that passing information to everyone-equally, without prejudice- improves the quality of the world as a whole, not just our nation. The war IS just--misguided in area of operation right now, but just.That's my rant | |

Your post is a wonderful statement, and I wish it were true. However, the sentiment you expressed while being an ideal is not the reality. There should be only "us", but given human nature there is most definitely a "them".
As long as dictators, greedy killers, or other totalitarian govt's exist there will be an us and them, people are flawed and act in their best interests usually, not considering the ideal of joint destiny. Leaders murder their citizens, rape their lands, and bleed their nations dry. To not see such people as 'them' is unrealistic.
Please don't think America doesn't understand, we understand all too well the nature of men and politics, even amongst our supposed allies. Other nations understand as well, they may pay lip-service to globalization but the bottom line to them is their nations needs, including noble France, whose people just rejected the EU constitution as unfavorable to them.
Lastly, a reminder: being a majority does not mean they are correct, just as being in the minority does not mean one is wrong.

Secondly, if Dubya is such a saviour of downtrodden people, where's the US forces in Zimbabwe, Sudan, Congo, etc. oh yeah, there's no oil there for american soccer moms and their ford excursions. my mistake.
Third, you're very pompous to talk about WWII, considering your ****ing country didn't show up until after pearl harbor. big stand against tyranny, there...
Fourth, Saddam is one of the most evil men to ever live, no doubt. so how come all of his armaments are stamped 'Made in USA'? oh yeah, cos daddy bush thought in the 80's that he could do in Iran what sonny did in Iraq. incidentally, that's called imperialism. i'm canadian, i know all aboot it, eh?
Lastly, if you want peace in the Middle East (like the people there do!), set Israel up with rhode island and be done with it. geez! | |
