| * for girls Posted: 9/18/2008 2:02:07 PM | | Actually, as it's a healthy reminder I'm not pregnant, I quite like my cycle. Minor bloating? Who cares. | |
| * for girls Posted: 9/18/2008 3:27:38 PM | | I got a Mirena IUD. No periods, no babies, no problem. It's as more effective for preventing pregnancy than getting your tubes tied. | |

| * for girls Posted: 9/18/2008 5:37:50 PM | I didnt know that but I just take premesin pms for my period cramps because they're really bad and the bloating is just annoying cuz i don't quite fit into my jeans right. | |
| * for girls Posted: 9/18/2008 9:48:30 PM | me either ..did u try
hot soup, tea, warm showers,or a menstraul heating pad from the pharmacy? or the classic midol or pamprin max
| * for girls Posted: 9/19/2008 4:21:47 PM | Midol and Pamprin don't do much for my cramps...and they don't even touch the bloating :( It sucks. I think regular Motrin works best for me...but regardless I hate that time of the month! Although I have had a time or two when I was happy to see it come | |
| * for girls Posted: 9/19/2008 8:17:07 PM | | I've been on depo shots since 94 and haven't had a period in almost 13 years now. :) I can't imagine going off of it ever. | |

| * for girls Posted: 10/22/2009 12:43:56 PM | | Yeah, as annoying as it can be, like another poster said, it's a reminder that I'm not pregnant. That, and it really does make me feel like a woman. I would never want to get rid of my period for this reason. It makes me feel feminine. | |
| * for girls Posted: 10/22/2009 12:52:35 PM | | if you had my body you would lol | |
| * for girls Posted: 10/22/2009 1:16:42 PM | Ladies, the Mirena iud stops PMS and periods altogether. It makes periods and PMS history. | |
| * for girls Posted: 10/22/2009 1:23:55 PM | | the jab dones that.i know my body stil works cos after the 10 weeks i get the pmt signs.so am happy with the jab. | |
| * for girls Posted: 10/22/2009 6:46:35 PM | The best thing I have found for cramps and bloating is a hard work out lifting weights... heavy weights.... then a cup of hot spearmint tea with honey. As much as my legs hurt during my period, the weights seem to alleviate the tension caused by cramps.
... then I crawl into bed and watch Jane Austen movies.
| * for girls Posted: 10/22/2009 6:52:14 PM | | I was on the depo shot for years and am now using the Mirena IUD. Haven't had a cycle problem since I was 16... it's wonderful. | |
| * for girls Posted: 10/22/2009 7:04:50 PM | Doc has me scheduled for the Mirena IUD too... stops your period for 5 years...it's very effective and being used to help women ease into menopause.
water... I find keeping hydrated...drinking plenty of water helps me feel energized, not so bloated.
| * for girls Posted: 10/22/2009 9:15:57 PM | mwcgirl I'm 48 years old. Let me tell you....it just gets better and better...... I hear it all comes to an end, eventually. Cheers. | |

| * for girls Posted: 10/23/2009 1:42:48 AM | | Sex is great to relieve the cramps. So is walking and other exercise. | |
| * for girls Posted: 10/23/2009 3:48:05 AM | | ^^^^ for some women perhaps, but sex and exercise never helped ease my cramps and PMS that's for sure. | |
| * for girls Posted: 10/23/2009 12:30:54 PM | | hey i couldnt have sex if i was on my peroid sounds nasty | |
| * for girls Posted: 10/23/2009 1:34:43 PM | | Not nasty. Messy yes, but not nasty. Some men are wusses and won't do it, but good sex is always a little messy anyways. | |

| * for girls Posted: 10/23/2009 2:19:18 PM | I have symptoms akin to PCOS (although I do not have PCOS) and so I am happy I am now on the pill. I had considered an IUD but the risk of getting it "stuck" in the uterine wall and needing surgery (potentially) to remove it, is one I don't want to take. I've just had my last cycle; and I wish never to have another one, this was brutal. I honestly felt like someone was ripping my uterus out.
Some women never get cramps or pain; my mother never did. Some women aren't so lucky. And having my period has never - ever - ever made me feel feminine or more like a woman. It's the only thing where I can agree that if there is God, it is definitely a man because no woman would put another woman through what I've been through with my periods. When mine disappears for a few months at a time (when not using the pill), the next time it comes is so excruciating that all I can do is lay in bed and cry.
Women who only get mild symptoms, that are managed with over-the-counter pills, are lucky. Others, not so much.
