| Tattoos Posted: 9/29/2008 11:16:11 AM | I’m booked to get a tattoo! – three small shamrocks, representing each of my children, and our heritage. In some of the forums, I read comments from men saying they would never date a woman with tattoos! I thought maybe it was a reaaallly old thread, but it isn’t!! But there weren’t any comments from Montrealers, whom I happen to feel are some of the coolest people around!
So, what do you think?
Are tattoos acceptable? And if you have a tattoo, does it hold any significance to you, and have you ever regretted it??

| Tattoos Posted: 9/29/2008 12:35:34 PM | Tattoos are acceptable in my world.I have several and have never regretted getting any of them.I consider them my "leveler".If someone won't deal with me on a personal level because of them, there will be plenty of other things "unacceptable"to them.If someone decides not to see past the colors of my skin, well,to H-E-Double toofpicks with them.None of mine are visible unless I choose to show them to someone and they are all extremely significant to me. I will warn you though, they are addictive...lol | |

| Tattoos Posted: 9/29/2008 2:55:18 PM | | I got a tat 3 years ago. Have not received any negative feedback on it. It represents me and my children and where our lives were at the time. It is a red rose growing out of a heart. I designed it myself. Every part of it has meaning. I got it for me, no other reason. It is 3" tall and is over my heart, which is where my children are. If you want to get one to represent your love for your children, I say go for it. If a man cannot accept it then you don't need him. | |

| Tattoos Posted: 9/29/2008 4:12:03 PM | | It depends on the tattoo and there it is located and if it suits the person in my opinion. | |

| Tattoos Posted: 10/6/2008 11:15:41 AM | I think that most men that wouldn't date a woman with tattoos are men that themselves dont have tattoos.
Or men that are a little too focused on "what would people think".
Personally i find tattoos on women very attractive. It also serves as an excellent ice breaker on first dates/meetings.
What better way to get under a woman's skin than to talk about a feature on her body that she is obviously proud of without sounding perveted :)
So in short... i say definetly get it done. men that wouldn't date women because of tattoos aren't date worthy :)
same goes for women. | |

I wonder sometime about the people that tattoo there whole face and body but thats there thing I guess. The pain that they would have to go through to get it done.

|
| Tattoos Posted: 10/14/2008 3:44:12 PM | | back to the original post, where is this tattoo located anyways? | |
|
| Tattoos Posted: 10/14/2008 3:49:20 PM | It will likely be discreetly located on my hip, and not noticeable unless I'm wearing a string bikini....And THAT'S not likely to happen!!! | |
|
| Tattoos Posted: 10/14/2008 3:51:37 PM | | haha ok. Not a bad spot though. | |
|
| Tattoos Posted: 10/18/2008 7:18:24 PM | | I think tattoos are cool, but like everything, in moderation. I designed all my tattoos and they have significance, however they are all located where they can be easily covered if the occasion demands. | |
|
| Tattoos Posted: 10/20/2008 6:06:01 PM | If you want a tattoo, get it.
Worrying about whether a man will be less attracted to you because of one? Then don't get it.
In my opinion, if you're that much of a worry wart and are so concerned with how others view you, you're not ready for a tattoo. The only person that should be of importance when considering body art, is yourself (and/or your immediate family, depending on how appropriate the ink is.) If you're wanting 3 clovers, get them and be proud. If you're wanting 3 skulls or crossbones or a rap stars name with 'thug life', get them on your ass and hide it.
I've got 2 tattoos, got them both done over 6 years ago by a friend. They weren't very good quality, but I was young and didn't really give a **** as to what others thought. They aren't anything crude or disrespectful, it's just the colour/quality that was a little... off. I've recently gotten the major of the 2 completely redone, and I'm fully inlove with it now, and gladly show it to anyone that's interested. The other one is still 'as is', but it's still cute, and part of me.
FYI... they're addictive, yes, but they also need upkeep and aen't a completely pleasant feeling. Tat's are life long commitments. Make sure you're ready for one.

| Tattoos Posted: 10/21/2008 4:04:09 PM | | a lady at work has one on her ankle and it is slowly turning into a green blob... You are a very pretty lady, clear untouched skin is the most beautiful thing. All tatt,s turn into green fuzzy distortions eventually. Most guys will say they like tattoo,s if they think they can get some interest from you. Be safe where you get it applied, lots of potential diseases and inks imported from china may be contaminated. | |
|
| Tattoos Posted: 10/26/2008 9:28:44 AM | OP.
Then be more original....the have a tatoo of a string bikini....
