i went on a date...it was okay...no major sparks flying, but i wasn't crawling out of my skin either...i'd go out with him again if i hear from him, but i'm not going to cry myself to sleep if i don't...ya know?
so i'm curious how many dates some of you guys give before you decide whether it's worth your time or a waste of your time... | |

Posted: 9/29/2008 2:08:19 PM | i guess i meant in regards to what individuals think...not so much a "couple" thing, but a so-so first date...would you ask them out again? write it off as a not happening? do you bother with a 2nd date even if it wasn't a mind-blowing first date?
i usually give a 2nd date or maybe even a 3rd, but i'm not a guy, which is why i'm asking here :) | |

Being a man I try getting INTO my date as soon as I can. I usually decide before I go on a date if I want to get INTO her. If I don't want to get INTO her, I doubt very much I would go out on a date with her. | |

If I'm not hitting it off with a chick in the first five mins I'm outta there. If I am, the date may last several hours and end with sex. In which case I'm for sure going to call her for another date.

Posted: 9/29/2008 2:41:35 PM | I usually like to go out for dinner on a first date and over the course of the evening, I think I'm able to get a good idea about whether or not I want to get further involved. IMO, you can tell a lot about a person if you ask the right questions and LISTEN to the answers. By now, it's a "process" - looking for red flags, green flags, etc., and there are certain base subjects that I feel can be very telling about a person. Honestly, I've never finished a first date and not made a decision one way or another. Heck, sometimes I know I'm not interested within minutes of meeting someone. I've also only had one woman who wasn't sure about ME by the end of the first date. I guess I had to prove myself to her - which was fine.
If there's a second date, then it's because I'm interested and so is she. If there's not a second date, it's because one or the other of us isn't interested.
So, in answer to your question, ONE.
BTW OP, the Ask A Guy/Girl threads are closed after 21 posts. So, it might be to your benefit to NOT take up SEVEN of those posts. Maybe wait until more guys have posted - you'll get more responses that way. | |
