do you like long painted fingernails on woman????Many woman go through a lot of trouble, and money to grow their fingernails long ,or get some kind of fake attachment things on them .I don't think it looks attractive at all. When I've seen long finger nails on people who didn't have nail polish on them there's often a lot of dirt underneath them, which makes me wonder just how much dirt ,or worse matter accumulates there.
I would think it must also put some limitations on what a woman can do.What's the idea behind it. is it supposed to make the fingers look longer,or some how more woman like??

It all depends on what I want the woman to do
scratch my back..long nails are OK
sorting papers doing floors, dishes, ironing, windows, digging the garden,....umm I think the poor thingy will have some troubles with the long nails then

but being liberal about it all you could say it isn't my problem, is it?

Various reports have shown that long fingernails can create a reservoir for bacteria such as E. coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa, the latter linked to a series of baby deaths in a hospital several years ago.

I couldn't do it for practicality sake, but a nice french manicure can make a woman's hands very attractive.

One of my exes had pornographic fantasies involving hands with long red painted fingernails on his gear so there must be something about it.

The Attachments/Nail Extensions usually look rather tacky anyways.
Not classy at all.

Well Energy...I have never been one to wear my finger nails long...although apparently it is suppose to signify a womanly touch or something like that. I have always wondered what it would be like to do those manicure sessions only to wake up and realize I do far too many things with my hands to sustain long finger nails, never mind trying to keep them painted purty....I use to keep my horses at home with me at one time, can you imagine the dirt one would have under the nails given the length...bleck....even though they stay some where else these days...the idea of growing my nails long is just not that important to me I guess...I still do reno's and play in the dirt..lol...

Does this make me less of a woman???? I dunno

I'd be apprehensive about being in a serious relationship with a long-nailed tigress. There would be considerable risk of injury during moments of wild passion and lets face it skin-to-skin is preferable to needing to wear wearing body armour.

Don't forget the long list of things she'd bow out of because, gosh she might break her nails... changing the flat tire, splitting firewood, cleaning fish and shoveling snow off the roof!

I've known women who couldn't even type properly because of her long fingernails. Keyboards weren't designed for them

Seriously, long nails, real or fake, be they painted, varnished, paved, galvanized, under-coated, whatever... are a turn-off for me.

I was a nailbiter until about 5 years ago and have just recently started the process of actually 'buffing' and 'polishing' the nails to help keep them strong.

I'd love to have the luxury of the time to grow the nails and the money for the endless maintenance. I'd also need to hire someone to do my cooking/dishes/laundry because I'd be terrified I'd break one of the dammed things.

I'd be incapable of doing my job because the nails would continually be catching in my keyboard.

I'd be terrified one of the things would catch on something and rip my entire fingernail out to the root. Owie.

No thanks - I'd rather be low-maintenance and real.

I tried the nail extensions once, a shorter style of a French manicure. Because of a severe allergic reaction to them, with in a few days they literally popped off and it took weeks for the eczema to heal on my fingers...
So, I keep them typing length, (the perfect length for a back scratch) neat and clean, with a nice coat or two of polish. when I am going out. If one breaks, c'est la vie ....

A French Manicure is so hot.
I love it when a girl makes the effort to look like a girl.

I have inch long nails and the only thing that they stop me from doing is picking up change that I may drop. I can fish, clean them, ride a dirt bike, clean, do dishes, cook, garden, and type over 70 wpm WITH long nails. I can also eat hot food without burning my fingers.

I also do my own nails so I do not pay the high fees involved in the maintenance. As for the bacteria comment? that is what nail brushes are for.

i wear FAKE nails on occasion as i'm a NAIL biter and yes i don't like to admit it but...
ok FAKE nails r high maintenance but then again bitten nails r ugly.... so if ur going to judge me based on how i like to look or what makes me happpy then the shoe can be worn on the other foot.
PPle who need to JUDGE others on how they look and assme that I'm HIGH maintenance isn't fair in my eyes and therefore i wouldn't be interested in them.
BTW: my fake nails don't get in my way of wahsing dishes, camping, etc.

Just as in ancient China, long fingernails were a refinement of slothful nobility exercising their right to do nothing. Excessively long nails are impractical, although some Chinese prefer to grow a long pinky nail for flossing their ears out after a long nap. I don't feel particularly entitled to do this but I've heard via heresay that it's an exquisite sensation!

While I still favour the short nails, I'm genuinely impressed.

Either I've been duped by long-nailed women feigning inability or those women I've encountered were not as skilled as you. I suspect a bit of both.

I admire beautiful fingernails simply because I know that they take some care and attention. I've always been lucky to be able to grow my own nails out and have nail care "spasms" where I will keep them polished for a few months but then, I get back to just keeping them nicely-shaped and clean. I think there is a point where they are too long and perhaps even dangerous. I have often wondered why men don't run off screaming when a woman has really long fingernails but it seems that most women who have long nails have learned how to run them so what do I know?

A man's hands are even MORE important to me. If he's a guy who plays in the grease, I want to see some solid evidence that he has done everything he can to clean them up. Jagged, dirty nails are a fearsome thing!

And men's toenails... Guys, you just HAVE to cut those things and I do mean, you HAVE to... There's nothing like an inadvertent boot to the legs with a set of long toenails in the middle of the night to wake a gal up in a rather foul mood.

On other woman, long painted nails can look fabulous. But I have small hands so I like to keep my finger nails long n natural, or I get a French polish to give the illusion of longer fingers. Colour doesn't do it for me.

But on my toes, the sluttier the colour, the better.

I like the way longer fingernails make my fingers look longer, and, I think, more feminine. I've a very active life (what with three kids, and all, lol) so I only grow them out and paint them for special occassions. They do grow quickly though, so I don't need too much notice!

My ex-sister in-law, she wears extensions that made her fingernails look like those on mummies that have kept growing after death. Eek.

As for the bacteria comment? that is what nail brushes are for.

In an article regarding chefs and bacteria under fingernails:

The study also found that not even the most vigorous washing with a fingernail brush was able to remove completely all of the bacteria under long or artificial nails.
http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m3190/is_32_36/ai_90570852?tag=rel.res1

The result of the hospital baby deaths referred to above was not conclusive enough to prove that the long fingernails on nurses were the definitive source of the bacteria that caused the infections, but the Centre for Disease Control (CDC) has recommended against long and artificial fingernails in intensive units and transplant units. Their guidelines already ban long fingernails in operating rooms.

I never understood the appeal of long painted fingernails myself, but then again I saw a girl at the gym today that was on an arobic machine and had so much pancake makeup on her skin looked like a cadaver.... I wonder if the sweat rolls under the makeup and down her neck or if it gets locked in her face.... EWWWW

Fingernails don't do sh*t for me, but the stroke of a womans soft hands.....

Oh and for the record, I like Delores name spelled my way..... think that will get me "nailed"? or maybe just the finger?

I was a chronic nailbiter until I got pregnant with my oldest, then the mere thought of biting my nails repulsed me. Luckily for me once the pregnancy ended my adversion to biting my nails didn't end also, so now for the first time in my life I have long nails. Unfortunately after they get longer than about 3/4 of an inch it becomes impossible for me to do my day job which involves alot of hand tools. I keep them filed and trimmed to about that length now until the middle of November then I grow them out for the holiday season. For three weeks at work the guys I work with laugh at me when I keep saying to everyone .. "I had better not break a nail doing this!" ( I work in a male dominated trade in a male dominated workplace!) luckily it is only for a few weeks a year and they enjoy the chance to rib me about something!

After so many years of chewing my own nails down to the quick .. I really do enjoy having nails these days.

Personally I get my nails done, I just like having them all one length and pretty. I never get colour, always a french manicure. But I keep them fairly short because I type all day, so it's not like I have inch long claws or anything. Just enough to leave marks if I want to. Heh!

Now let's talk about guys nails... I love a guy who works hard, I think manly hands are hot but what's NOT hot is when they are covered in dirt or grease with crap under the nails and they want to put them all over youuuuu! Ew. No thanks. Nail brushes were invented for a reason.
