| Deftones bassist in severe coma

Deftones bassist Chi Cheng is reportedly in a coma following an automobile accident in Santa Clara, CA yesterday. Details are limited thus far, but Deftones frontman Chino Moreno has issued the following statement:
"It deeply saddens me to inform you all that our brother Chi Cheng was involved in a terrible car accident last night. He is currently in a Northern California Hospital in serious, but stable condition. I am on my way up North right now to be by his side along with the rest of our bandmates and family. Chi is one of the strongest people I know, and I'm praying that his strength will get him through this. Please say a prayer for him as well." | |

Posted: 12/10/2008 11:02:20 PM | Last I heard he was still in a coma and but is out of intensive care and at some "brain rehab" facility in California. I think his long term prognosis is good.
