Is it important for you as a woman to have nice nails?? As a man do you really notice the little things women do to make themselves more feminine like painting their nails and such like

I vowed to be a girl for a while and have kept my nails rather nice if i do say so myself but I am just about to go and mourn the loss of both of my thumb nails, which kind of ruins the effect!!

But are the little things really important??? I have to say I dont like men with dirty fingers nails, you kind of wouldnt want them to go anywhere would you

Afternoon Lillian....yes it is very important to me to have nice nails.Mine are not that long due to being a midwife but when i'm not at work i paint them and have nail extentions when off for a period of time.

I love anything girly and feminine anyway.
I paint my toe nails too usually to match my finger nails.

I have a hand fetish anyway and couldnt let anyone with horrid hands and nails near me.Nails that are chewed are revolting and dirty nails are vomit inducing!

EDIT:
I agree totally with your last statement HMSDebbie....100%

Wearing undies that don't match is like wearing odd shoes IMO lol!

I have mine done every two weeks. I have "permanent" nail varnish put on which lasts until I have it removed. It costs me £32 a pop and I work overtime on a Friday evening (til 11!) to pay for it (well it pays for ladies nice things which include my nails, my hair colour, having my hair straightened and having various bits waxed).

I don't feel right unless I've got nice nails, hair and shoes and my underwear is matching

Yes, I notice nails immediately but then I have a "thing" about a woman's hands - bitten nails on a naked Claudia Schiffer would have me running for them thar hills.

A woman once told me she looks at a man's shoes and can get an impression of him from them....scruffy shoes = scruffy personality. Same thing goes for nails, really.

Christ, what am I doing bumming about on here? Work to do......

Whilst I may be lacking in some areas/things, I have been blessed with very strong nails & reasonably elegant hands (I even did some hand modelling in the past) so I take good care of my nails & repaint them every 10 days or so (basecoat, 2 layers of colour, top coat & gloss ~ lasts for ages!). The main reason I got my eyes tested recently was because I was having difficulty focusing sufficiently well to do my nails!
In addition, I wear Marigolds whilst doing any housework that involves water.

So yes, it's very important to me, very important indeed.

Dirty finger nails are revolting.

I'm a bit anal about looking after my shoes too & polish my everyday boots most weekends...& have shoes/boots soled & heeled whenever they need it.

I have acrylic nails with infils every three or four weeks which cost me £15 a time. They are kept really short though - not the long flashy type that look false.

Soaking in the bath used to make my natural nails tear like paper and other housework jobs too, so these look real and are strong.

I don't get a design put on at the salon but use colours I have bought myself.

Nails are so important. These acrylic nails are brilliant and no-one knows they are not my own because they are short and a single colour.

By the way I hate those nails women have with a bright white tip that takes up half the nail - "porn star nails" I call them!

So according to jeff men do notice these things and it is fairly important to try and keep up appearences???

I have saved the nails and am going to try to keep up the illusion of being a lady!!

I don't mind bitten or short nails on a man so long as they are clean. I however have never bitten my nails, someone once told me that you have the same amount of germs under your nails as is on a toilet seat............ and i wouldnt lick one of them!!!

I have really long (false) nails, I love my nails, I do them myself as I get bored sitting in a salon.
Before I had false nails I used to bite mine and I agree its a disgusting habit but one I just couldn't break.
I wouldn't let a man with dirty fingernails near me.

I used to bite my nails, but just stopped suddenly. Saw some white and thought, yeah baby..YEAH..ahem..Well it was more like, i like that..

So now i have to keep trimming them to stop over growing..I like the natural manicured look , but can't do it myself..i end up looking like a teacher with tipex gone wrong..

I have gel put on top of my natural nail, which acts as a hardener, the gel comes in different colours and i have mine done French style, they need infilling every 3 weeks and i pay £30, i also have my toe nails done with jewels inlayed in them.

I dont know if its important for a woman to have nice nails.

I know that im very girly and always have my hair, nails and makeup done.

I had acrylic nails for a while until 3 of my own nails went green underneath. Was only on one hand too so they came off.It took months for my own nails to look half way decent again but i found rubbing in cuticle cream every night helped strengthen them.I only put nail polish on if i,m going out becos it always chips off!I always wear varnish on my toenails though and i take a lot of care of my feet.I cant stand chewed nails. My ex husband used to bite his nails right down!Yuck!Dirty nails are also a big no no.The gardener at work always seems to notice if my hair is different and even tells me if he likes the shoes i,m wearing!lol. How many men usually notice anything different .

I think women with long, clean, varnished finger nails have too much time on their hands and should really be paying more attention to the livestock.
My nails are always manicured to a very high standard but then again im very conscious about my nails.

Kinda wierd this really! I notice nails more so now that my wife is a Nail Tech, and also notice nails that have been done badly too! Whilst my wife was Qualifying to become a Nail Tech, I had to "endure" various nail treatments and pedicures for her practice at college. Now some may think that's ok to have free manicures and pedicures, but as a 35 year old bloke its kinda difficult to explain to your mates why you have super shiny top coat or gel or acrylic on your fingernails.
Also whilst she was studying to become a Nail tech I would help her with the theory side of things and as a result, I now know various things that only properly trained Nail Tech's should know. What I could use this knowledge for in the future is anyones guess, but at least i can say "I know that!"
What really aggrivates me though is these so called salons that are opening left right and center where the operative inside has done a 3 day nail course and a 1 day waxing course and thinks its a great idea to open up a shop. Usually charging less than £20 for a full set of acrylics and thinking they know what they are doing. These are the salons that when you have an allergic reaction to a cheap MMA based acrylic or gel that they bought off ebay or China, and you go back to ask why, you will find they cannot get the appropriate insurance or public liability, leaving you with a very sore, set of fingers, a few quid lighter in the pocket and not a leg to stand on in a court of law. I could go on for ever on this subject but will save you all the bore lol
Rant over for now lol

The best nail salon in Swindon is run by 3 chinese guys and i have never seen such a brilliant job done!

They are always busy and have to turn some customers away due to not enough hours in the day.

They are excellent and very very professional and offer a whole range of 'fancy bits'....I had diamantes on my finger and toe nails last xmas and they lasted ages. The toe ones stayed put for 11 weeks.Finger ones i had removed after 3 weeks due to work

I love french manicure but don't like overly long nails, fake or otherwise

Nice toe and finger nails are definitely noticed by me.
We do have an odd one here at work. She thinks that using white out also called liquid paper is a good fake french manicure. A bit tacky don't ya think?

As for myself, not a biter but I do keep them trimmed about as low as they can go and I keep them very clean. Same with the toes. I do admit though that my hands are pretty rough, not too callous but just manly. I work with my hands a lot and don't lotion, but do wash. Wood working does keep them dry.

Later, Bob

I get my nails done each month. My own nails break and split very easily so i get gel nails applied, men seem to like them I dont have them overly long but long enough with a french manicure (white tips) i dont particualrly like the nails with all patterns and pictures etched onto them. I give myself a pedicure every week as i hate to see women with hard skin flaking off their heels in open back shoes or sandels

I am very lucky to be blessed with very strong natural nails which can grow really long I manicure them myself every couple of weeks, base, two coats of colour and then a glossy top coat....
The only time my nails are short are if I break one and normally I manage to break all of em during the summer camping season....

I like to look after my skin everywhere and particularly on my hands and feet so facials, massage, pedicures and manicures are usually a weekly thing for me. My own nails are fine, not overly long but strong and always well presented. I like nail art but I've found when I'm in meetings with people with really elaborate nail art, or an outstanding piece of jewellery or something I tend to just look at that and stop listening to what they are saying so don't partake myself and just go for a nice colour. Of course toes and fingers need to match!

I know a couple of men who say if a woman can't look after her fingers god only knows what lies beneath the clothing. So some must take it as a sign of attentiveness to personal grooming in general.

Re someone up there ^^^^ about shoes I was told that too, but frankly for me it's what's in the shoes that I'm bothered about not where they bought them from or how much they cost (and no that's not an invitation to foot fetish folk to email me again I'm still working my way through replying to the last lot ).

You bet I notice a ladies nails. After all you have to have a sneaky peek at the ring finger too.

I also notice hair and shoes. I tend to note what women wear to, which helps with my work as a mystery shopper, I have to describe what people look like. Quite often I even note what colour shoes that have on !!

Nice long nails are great. I must admit I dont like seeing different colour nail polish on toes to fingernails

me too just to check if she washed her hands afterwards!!!

and with the invention of patent leather, or mirrored sandals, quite useful to kill two birds with one stone I find!

I like nails to be nice on a woman, but if thats the be all for me, I think i will shoot myself.

I do have a habit which I would liek to break of chewing the quiks.....

I have acrylic french polish (at the cost of £25 every 2-3 weeks its MY treat to myself), infact who doesnt have them these days, its embaressing how common it is LOL

I dont think I could take them off now, as before I was a nibbler, and I think nibbled nails look RANK

My daughters a nibbler, and ive trired everything to bribe her out of it.

Same for a man, I CANT STAND long nails on a man it makes me feel ill, but then I dont like nibbled ones either, do short maintained is good :)
