| RED DEER SINGLES EVENTS!!!

I know there is an OLD OLD thread that had something to do with Red Deer but it's been dead for ages..
Anyway, ideas and volunteers are welcome. | |

Which Red Deer thread is dead? It should be on the second page, as I haven't hashed out all the details yet, but we're looking at late January at this point for the next Red Deer meet.
Of course, I'm not saying you shouldn't try to do one. It's been done before, and that's cool. The ones I have done in the past have gone over incredibly well because I did them on a Saturday, at the right time of year (not in December, because people have other priorities). In fact the largest one was at Bo's Bar&Grill in October '06. Roughly 270 people showed up from Red Deer, Calgary, Edmonton, and a handful of smaller cities/towns. This is what makes Red Deer a true "ground zero" for Alberta POF meets (or at least their sizes).
So right now what's happening is I'm going to be meeting with Amber from Cheers North this week regarding a concrete number. I'm thinking late January at this point. It gives POFers enough time to prepare, since we get to have it advertised on the Inbox page on POF.
Cheers North works great because Amber has been DEMANDING I do one there (hehe.. she's good that way). She fully understands the value of a good POF crowd, and would love to co-host a meet. It's also great because there's a decent dance floor, a DJ booth (as it stands, she wants to DJ it, since she has experience), and everything we will need. Also, drink deals. It's close to quite a few hotels, which helps the out of towners.
Anyway glad there's someone else wanting to do one of these things... oh hey, if you're not looking to do a HUGE one, there's always wing nights. We used to do wing nights all the time but a lot of the people got busy, some moved away, and overall people just decided not to go as often as they used to... If you want to do a wing night (or karaoke night, etc.) make sure you don't put the name of the pub or venue right in your subject line. POF moderators frown upon that.
I'm a veteran of doing these, so if you have a specific idea (sledding, skiing, any group activity or gathering) let me know and I'll be cool with answering questions. | |

Posted: 11/25/2008 7:39:13 PM | | we did,Once upon a time have " the red deer wing night" But not every one wanted to meet at a pub ,,we need a coffee night set up and an add for such put where the people that dont go into the forums, or dont know about the forums will see it....then a lot of peeps will show up..most of the group that hung out in the forums dont ever show up at things like that, if it is not a party they dont give a crap.... | |
