Virtual Gift Points [CLOSED Thread]Page 1 of 1
For quite a while I had saved up virtual gift points, to the point where I had about 20,000 I believe. Now I go into my gift point section and see that all but 2000 are gone. What happened here?

There are now Virtual Gifts you can buy, so, for SOME reason, SOMEONE, I cannot fathom who, has reset our virtual points.

I think it was my wish that did it... I had used up all of my points, and I was just a wishin' that I could get some to use...

Next thing ya know... voila. 2000 points for me to make flagrant use of whilst schmoozing the fine gentlemen of the site...

I just noticed this myself, and was wondering what had happened - feeling somewhat robbed.

Then I realized... I never use them anyway, this is nothing more than virtual hoarding, and feeling arbitrarily at a loss is asinine as I had done nothing to earn them in the first place.

But, then again, I was thinking of reinvesting them in E-gift mutual funds, and watching my E-points portfolio snowball to the point where I was an E-point mogul. Alas, my E-dreams dashed to the E-ground.

Having lost your investment in POF, they have given you a perfect chance to check out all the other nifty free dating sites around. I for one was just logging in here to get the free points - Where's the incentive on other sites???

But, these paid (REAL money) E-flowers, now that's ingenious. Now I can show how much I care (read how rich and idiotic I am) by blowing 30 bucks on a JPEG and a message. There's no way anybody would think to do this over, say, regular email... for free... and then just give $30 to something stupid like... I dunno... Charity... in the name of the person who has captured your interest. Nah. That's retarded.

Cheers,

yeah, what he said.^^^^

i lost about 16,000 points. but, since i didn't use 'em anyway...not much of a loss. it suffices to say i wont be spending any REAL $$$ on sending virtual anything.

At least I had a "Virtual" something to show for the time I've spent here..

I'm curious to know how many of the new flowers actually sell on a site such as this..?

what a genius!

I wonder when a mod or something will pipe in on the subject, but I think -- sadly -- our points are gone for good. They also lowered the points we get a day to 30 too.

It sucks because I was saving them up to blitz a girl on her birthday.

So it is not true that after you have accumulated a certain number of these points you
could become a Mod ?

What??? You didn't get the memo either? The things they tell us.......err or don't tell us.

*psssst* pass that watermelon liquor you have over this way.

I guess you either use 'em or lose 'em in this case.
PoF is making way for progess with the new $$$ virtual gifts.
And with the economy the way it is now..........
The stock went wayyyy down for accumulated points so the market crashed and now we have the new $$$ gifts and we lost our accumulated stock shares.

Oh, the pain of it all...........

Seem to have been reset to 2,000 now likely to lay out the Carpet for Pay Messaging.

Not so far anyways.

Do you really think that's likely? I think the site would have to undergo a massive overhaul to be competitive as a pay site don't you?

"Now maybe you'll actually have to do something thoughtful and personal for her birthday."

Oh yeah, like fly out to Australia. No... I don't think so Mr. Toerag. It's not likely to give someone a fountain of teddy bears in real life because think of the mess?

I am sure your "girlfriend" on World of Warcraft screechied over that inscription you gave her, which has no value really, but it did involve a lot of time. But I guess the idea of symbolism is lost on you. -Pat pat.-

Enough of the nonsense and Flames - The point system is as it is and until BigFish decides differently, you can continue the onslaught in the above posted and below link with respect to the new feature and the existing gift point reduction.
