What is a "must have" to help you celebrate the season? Is there a certain tradition, ornament, meal, drink, snack or activity? What would you say "its just not Christmas" without it???????????????

I on a weekly basis eat celebrate and live well.

I would have to say all the ornamental trimmings and
commercialized aspects of it all..and...eggnog. Its seasonal and i rather
not make it myself.

PS, your stetson is rather funky, not to mention yer man.
I like your trimmings

Someone in my family gifting me with Purdy's milk chocs in nut and carmels mmmm and heading over to my aunt's house in Victoria. Those childhood memories i've held onto and brought with me into adulthood :)

I do admit Christmas isn't as special to me if there aren't small children around to believe in Santa and get all worked up about presents and snow.

WIthout my dad who passed away in March...and the other losses my family has experienced this year with loosing 3 other family members ! My mom had a stroke in August.Thankfully we still have her and she is about %85 back the way she was before the stroke :) The best part of this past year ??? My new baby neice ..Pyper Erin :) wish she lived closer for our first Christmas with her :) I have oodles of favorite Christmas movies . I definatly miss snow , last Christmas it was perfect when it started snowing in the afternoon. It was very Christmasy and made that last Christmas with my Dad a very special one :)

Alastair Sim in A Christmas Carol..thanks for bringing that one up..the best.
Eggnog..and the house full of baking, that smell that only happens once a year.
So many things, I love Christmas and wish more of my family was here to share it with me, but they are in spirit..

BehindTheScenes (Msg 15) The two of us have had a very similar year this year and I think because of that we share a very similar view on an answer to this particular thread.

This year has been a harsh one for me to say the least. And Christmas will not be the same ever again without my Dad who passed away in the Summer. But with that being said, my brother and his wife had a beautiful baby girl at the end of this Summer. A loved one lost, but never forgotten has been a hard one, that's for sure, but a newborn into this world is also something to be happy and thankful for.

And just like last year there is still an op for some snow to be either around or falling on Christmas. Vancouver is more known for Green Christmas's But it would be awesome if it could be white somewhere during the 12 days of this coming holiday season.

Last but not least, I love seeing some of the older Christmas Cartoons from the 60's and early 70's, combined with "the fire place scene" on channel 2 works for me as well. Just my opinion.

And I can forget to mention that I couldn't go through the season without spending some time with my fav peeps here in the pond at a Dec./Christmas POF Event. I look forward to them every year, all year.

Christmas always reminds me of the previous year:
Some things die
Some things grow

The cycle of life.
