Any reflection on some of your most memorable moments for 2008?
Be they good, bad or ugly - they will have changed who you once were and determined who you have now become.
And we all have room for growth and improvement.

Posted: 12/4/2008 8:06:33 AM | | Graduating from University, getting a 'real' job and losing said 'real' job. Realising I went to university for 4 years and am qualified to do uh um well I work in a call centre... Moving out on my own for the first time. Running into an ex who said I wasn't going anywhere in life and being able to tell him that I graduated, moved out, have a real job and he's still in the exact same position he was when we broke up (still working retail, not even a manager). That's really about it for this year. | |

My children have grown and succeeded in so many ways. I couldn't be prouder or more blessed.
I met a wonderful man and fell in love and then when it ended I discovered I have a best friend. That is more than I could ask for.
Through the wonders of the net I have found some friends from my childhood and teenage years and have shared in their joys and sorrows. This is another of life's simple gifts.
I lost 30 lbs! not by planning but sure has been interesting! I put my dress on from my social!!  maybe the old wedding dress next! I have no bad feelings...
I got a great job, travelled, learned and experienced and if it were all to be over in the blink of an eye...remember to dream and remember to dance! 2008 was a wonderful year...even if it started out bumpy...the landing has been smooth....here is to...the future!

- Making a ton of new friends and re-uniting with old ones
- having the sex changed reversed and then reversed again
- having my wisdom teeth put in

This year has been seeing my children thrive and grow, as well as seeing my daughter overcome some hurdles.
Getting to go to Montreal (for work) and getting the chance to see family there that I didn't expect to see.

Posted: 12/4/2008 5:23:19 PM | Getting a job that allows me to work in a school in a teaching capacity, despite it not being considered actual teaching.
Realizing who my true friends are.
Somehow balancing working 3 jobs during the first part of the year and now balancing 3 jobs within the same division.
My father suddenly being unable to walk and being wheelchair bound, followed by a cancer diagnosis.
Having the pleasure of working somewhere where at least once a day someone says they love me. Even if it is only because I carry candy with me.  | |

Touring Bill Shirks house - 14,000 square feet and an actual bidet.
Tracy Scoggins - most wonderful waist I ever had my arm around.
High school friend gets in touch.
Another high school friend moves back to town.
The two raises
The promotion.
Pub stumpers trivia.
Spoiling PP's great dog.
Finding something to fill the volunteering void after Sessie's soup kitchen closed.
Two collectors profiles in the Freep.
Good things happening for several friends.
Thursday nights at the Norwood get togethers (couldn't today because of overtime at work).
Finding books by Robert Benchley and Alexander Woollcott.
First magic performance in 12 years.
Partying with the New Duncan Imperials.
Seeing that great group Boss Tweed.
Three friends getting engaged - thats six people total.
Chance meeting with someone today- haven't felt the ol' ticker race that much in years.
My Niece finishing University.
Helping a family find their runaway daughter.
Introducing King Kong at Cinematheque, shame about the print quality, though.
The 'White Russian' leaving the city (hard to explain, but we had a party to celebrate.).

Met someone at the beginning of the year, didn't work out in the romantic sense but we are great friends.
My family and I went on a road trip to Mount Rushmore, which was totally exciting....except for driving thru dem hills!
I went back to school, and when I wasn't looking I met the most wonderful man and hopefully I will be able to post a photo of him soon!
I've been re-introduced into my culture big time and there is no looking back now!
I've made several great friends and .......................
I have grown.....as a person....I've become more spiritual.........someone who doesn't take life for granted......

Posted: 12/5/2008 7:08:12 AM | Graduating and becoming a nurse was a biggie for me! Also grateful that my dad is still around and got to see me graduate.
And taking a trip all by myself to a place where I didn't know anyone was a first for me. It won't be the last time for that!! I had a great time and didn't want to come back, especially to this weather!

~ celebrating a year in my own place
~ celebrating the birth of my grandson
~ celebrating my granddaughter's 2nd b-day
~the graduation of my #3rd daughter
~ celebrating my 40th birthday
~celebrating our official 1st year together (Nomad and I for those not in the loop)
~meeting his family, friends and ex
~girls night with his daughters
~playing baseball in honor of a dear friend that passed in Feb, and WINNING several tournaments (we normally suck)
~finding out that I was still 5 years cancer free (after finding benign cysts in my breast)
~taking my sexy truck to its first car show
~owning my sexy truck for a year and NOT wrecking it ...LMAO (those that know me, know this is memorable)
~spending a night fishing and catching a master angler 22 inch sauger, while I had secretly hoped my fishing partner would catch the big one for the season.
~being offered a job on radio, and refusing it because it would shut down the paper I write for.
~being offered a job with the Sun and refusing it because of their ethics (or lack of)
~taking every single chance I was offered to celebrate with friends, family, roadtrips, camping, whatever, with no excuses, reservations or fear (a personal biggy for me)
~learning to drive a boat
~going on a harley ride in a dress in Wabowden
~I learned how to really forgive
I have alot to celebrate I think :D

Posted: 12/5/2008 11:36:50 PM | ^^^^ the day I realized I slid out of Manitoba without having to actually meet you..
The birth of my first Grand baby and being able to be in the OR to see her come out !
To know I will most likely have a second grand daughter before the year end is over!
To see my oldest brother get married to a wonderful woman this past month
Sadly to see my Mom have another stroke recently, and to know she will probably never walk again.
Meeting so many new people in my new community, my work and on POF and the continuation of friendship with so many from Manitoba...
I may not have fallen in love, but I have loved often none the less!
The memories of 2008 are still being created and will last forever!

Posted: 12/7/2008 8:37:57 AM | Surviving a frightening diagnosis and lengthy hospitalization this past Fall after going over my Will and insurance documents with my kids to know that I survived and will still be around to see my kids continue to grow into the wonderful young adults they are becomming. And knowing that as a single mom, with no help from anyone and with no father in the picture that I did that all by myself ........
Still having my ever faithful Harley at my side and keeping my feet warm at the ripe old age of coming up 98 .......
Knowing how lucky I am to have the handful of true friends that I have who love me and accept me just the way I am ...

- My sister was over at her daughter’s boyfriend’s place and met his friend. He was in college and my sister asked if he knew me. He said yes and that I was his favorite instructor. Kind of nice to hear considering he was the brightest student I have seen in years.
- Started a new job this fall. | |
