So admin has been busy experimenting more. Now when I click the "Viewed Me" of my profile I see a new link "New Search ----- >Women Who think you are HOT."
I click and look and see 18 profiles. I've seen one of the profiles before for she lives in the lower mainland. Of the remaining 17 two are Ontario and the rest in the USA or the United Kingdom.
Talk about long-distance relationships.
Of the people who POF predicts to think you are hot are most of them from far-away places too? | |

That is odd that not all users get the same treatment.
Here is the explanatory text that appears below the new link.
We auto detect your most alluring trait. Be that your profession, your outlook on life, your personality or the way you look or the fact you love dogs etc. Listed below are users who are REALLY REALLY into your most alluring trait or group of traits. Now the users who are the most attracted to you often share the same traits, they could all love motorbikes, or all be hikers or artists etc. So don't be surprised if everyone below has a motorbike in their picture or are all surfers etc.
Somehow I suspect if I were to explore those profiles I'd find little in common, beyond the fact they are women.
Perhaps your dance card will fill soon, but you may be disappointed if it does. | |

I have a page listed with some very nice men, including a recently new friend Dr. Evil...
I have to agree, that I am not sure how the computer generates these pickings...very strange indeed...
Side note.....most of the fella's are from the Lower mainland on mine

one of them contacted me before this feature was in place...
they're all pretty hot...i'm not sure how much we'd have in common...
or if we'd click if we met....i guess i will wait for more of them to msg me first...;)..
nothing can stop it ...if two people are really attracted to each other...
and if they both want it...nothing can stop that..
and on the flip side ...no matter who thinks you're hot...
it isn't going to change anything if it's not mutual...
no matter what feature you saw each others pictures on...
cute feature to encourage a little more interaction ..
i heard this was a dating site after all...so you never know... | |

its been changed a bit to get rid of most of the distortions caused by the forums.
Thanks for adjustment. Much better now for all but two of the women are from BC, some actually within arm's reach or ferry crossing reach. The other two are out of province, from Alberta and Manitoba. | |

I realize admin it trying to motivate folks to be more brave and encourage folks to contact others.
I've never completed the Chemistry page, quite certain there would be a nasty chemical explosion if I did.
After having another look I need to amend my previous statement about number of women on my page that are out of province, from 2 to 4. I confused Unionville (ON) with Union Bay (BC) and discovered Ferndale is in Washington.

In light of my age I have a wee problem with the use of the word "girls" here and would much prefer to see "women", "gals" or "ladies" instead.
Anyway, I clicked the link and got this

I'd like to know what the criteria is, as I've read both the forum explaining and the written box and still can see 'how' it matches.
if its just based on activities selected in interests I'd like to uncheck a few boxes, change the information, some are 'scary'!
Maybe add a 'check box' on profiles for those viewing them to indicate 'hot or not, interested or not, or just plain ol' NOT A CHANCE IN HELL?'
is it via the personality and chemistry 'tests' already taken? (if you did them?) | |

Funnily enough, I am going to leave that whole hot or not thing for the eye of the beerholder.....errr....beholder.
I am actually more than a little perplexed at how they come up with the selection they do. Most of the guys are younger than my son....and I even have a couple in my group. How does that one work I am wondering?? Maybe they like playing boardgames???  | |

HaHa.. I'd say this was a bit presumtuous... kinda like spreading false rumours.. "Oooohhh.. so-and-so thinks you're hot".
I expect most of these poor buggers don't even know who I am!!
Is there a way to tell who I supposedly think is hot? I'd love to know...
