I am thinking of giving up on dating. I had a date last weekend, he was nice at first, we chatted then he said lets go for Pizza at Pizza Hut, I said sure. We had a pizza and 2 drinks, then he asked for the bill. The next thing I know he is holding the bill right up to my face and says, you are just like all the other women, who use me. I grabbed the bill and paid for it, I was more than mad, and told him you do not put me in the category of other women. I left. I suppose this forum will be erased, since you cannot say anything about the Good Olde Boys.!

OP, I'm sorry this happened to you, but, beyond that, who knows what his deal was? Hopefully, most of us are taking a little time, like a week or two, exchanging emails and phone calls, before meeting, so that the weirdos and loonies are smoked out, but sometimes that doesn't work.

So, to answer the OT...no, that's not normal dating. That's a weirdo guy with issues.

Don't give up this was just a freak accident. 99% of the men you date will not do this they will just start a thread instead.

OP: What is the point in your post? I'm sorry, but it seems to lack coherence!

I can't say that I remember that I've seen the "Good Ole Boys" bashing "Entitlement Chicks", since it's the good ole boys whom don't mind footin the bill for a pizza and a couple of pops.

Is this the best that you can do for a thread starter?

Go ahead and give up on dating because I don't want to date ya! I prefer positive-minded people.

Good Ole Boys don't walk away from anything, including paying for pizza.
I know that some other kinds of guys complain that girls just use them.
Those are usually the ones who complain and walk away.
That was a very strange scenario, OP...

How about we call it, "A date."

Others might have suggested better names like " A date from ...."

Left field? The Bullpen? The dugout? It doesn't sound like the End Zone.

It sounds like he was the one using you OP to pay the bill. He knew which buttons to push...
When he told you that you were in the category of " women that use me", I would have walked out and let him pay the bill.

He was a 'self-entitlement' scammer that knew what to say to shock you into getting a free meal, OP.

That was NOT a date, OR dating.

Me? Even if I had intended on paying the bill before I had even left the house, I'd of left him sitting there waving that bill to no one there, I'd of left so fast.

***shudders***... how creepy-scary. (((Hug)))

Midnight Moon was dead on. This guy played you like a violin and you let him. No, this isn't typical of any of the dates I've been on, but then I get to know the men a bit before meeting them. I always offer to pay my share also, although only one guy has ever taken me up on it. The guy was a nut and a user. Forget about him and move on. You're a pretty woman and there will be many men who will be very happy to take you out... and pay for it.

Off Topic -

splendere: Professionals in their 40s do not go to Pizza Hut for rendezvous.

Why ever not? I was an administrative exec, am in my 40's, and I would find it perfectly exceptable as a casual 'rendezvous'... when my DIET that week could afford it ... LOL

To each their own... :o)

I also believe you were used by this man to get the bill paid. Personally, I would have thrown enough money for half the bill on the table, and I would have left.

Unlike another comment that was made here, I don't think Pizza Hut is beneath a professional's choice for a first meet... nor do I think you should hold out for someone that will foot the entire bill for a 'fancier' place.. Take a bit of time to talk to someone before agreeing to meet, and decide before the meet where to go, and I would suggest splitting the bill so nobody feels they're being used.. a nice simple meet between two adults who just may hit it off....

OP

It was a date, just not a good one. But unfortunately this thread might devolve into one of those who should pay threads and quite frankly that poor horse has been beaten to death.

I agree with the poster who said he was pushing your buttons. You realize that he was laughing at you afterwards...right?

Next time, agree on who's going to pay etc. Do NOT expect the man to pay--and I know there'll be arguments about this, this is why I said it will end up being that kind of thread! Or better yet, meet for coffee and pay for your own.

But the one question I have for you is if this one bad date is going to make you give up on dating, do you honestly believe you were trying hard to begin with? Just wondering, considering some of us have been on worse dates than this.

OP - don't worry about him. He's a freakazoid who shouldn't be allowed out from his mother's basement. What a weirdo and a flip in behaviour! Acting normal through dinner, and then flips when the bill (At Pizza Hut - it isn't like it was a $300 meal or anything...sheesh) arrives. HE'S the nutter. Not you.

As my mom would say, it could have been worse. He could have invited you to the Ritz for supper. I went on a date once where the guy grabbed my hand and put in right ________, just to confirm that we wasn't a liar. It takes all kinds to make a world. Rock on.

Jelica, It wasn't a date as most would believe it should be ...and especially since he invited you for pizza. The right thing happened, even if you found some semblance of dignity w/ a pig by picking up the tab. Users seem to accuse others of their own bottom-line.
