| 2009 Polar Bear swim Posted: 12/8/2008 12:54:36 PM | Come on fishies... it is coming around to that time of year again and I was wondering if there were any brave souls here on POF!!
New Years day.. English Bay
If there is enough interest, I can look into having a section saved for us (again) at Checkers for both before and after the swim.

| 2009 Polar Bear swim Posted: 12/8/2008 2:50:49 PM | only to submerge in English Bay's toxic soup

| 2009 Polar Bear swim Posted: 12/8/2008 7:30:28 PM | I would if the water was'nt so full of garbage, broken glass, needles etc.......notta freekin chance..... Besides......it's cold.... | |
|
| 2009 Polar Bear swim Posted: 12/8/2008 7:33:38 PM | I remember seeing my first one on the Island ... Miracle Beach. I chuckled, only because the previous year I was in Cold Lake, Alberta for New Years. For the Polar Bear swim there, they get out ice augers, cut a 12' hole in ice that's a foot thick, then jump in.... now THAT's a Polar Bear Swim! (I did neither...I prefer hot tubs myself) | |

| 2009 Polar Bear swim Posted: 12/29/2008 7:01:37 PM | Seasons Greetings
I am most interested in the prospect of a New Years day Polar Bear swim at/in English Bay. Please count me in Aaron | |
|
| 2009 Polar Bear swim Posted: 12/29/2008 9:25:07 PM | Count me out. I don't turn the high beams and freeze the delicate spots. More of a hot tub girl here with a bottle of wine! | |
