| Arizona Posted: 12/21/2008 9:05:47 PM | So... i'm a native of Arizona and 2 years ago I finally moved to the valley. I met my boyfriend on here, and so what i am wondering is how the hell do you meet friends and seriously what is there to do in arizona. i mean the basics... i'm not into the bar scene or clubs. i'm just an average 20 something looking for a really fun time. i don't do drugs, nor do i intend to. what do y'all do for fun. what is there to do in Arizona?
Happy Holidays! | |

| Arizona Posted: 12/22/2008 6:32:43 AM | we get 300+ days of sunshine: hiking, biking, cycling, tubing, skating, walking. plenty of local music and events... | |
|
| Arizona Posted: 12/22/2008 7:02:12 AM | There are lots of festivals, street fairs, museums and garage sales and such as well. When I have some free time,I go to showup dot com or grab a New Times to see what's going on. One thing I've found though is that word of mouth networking can be the best way to find acceptable social activities in the greater Phoenix area. | |

| Arizona Posted: 12/22/2008 10:48:01 AM | I'd say volunteer work, but hey Yuma's the sticks right.....
Weather its animals, kids, elderly, veterans, theater, arts, or saving the planet...... ect There is something you believe in and like minded people will be there. What better people to search for friends among, than people that have the same passion as you. JMO

| Arizona Posted: 1/7/2009 1:50:30 PM | Ahem.
Im sitting here with over an inch of ice on my car, sidewalk and driveway. I have not left the house all day, no point, interstates are closed. No sympathy or empathy here.
Tell ya what those who freeze our toes do. When it's that 4 days of lovely hot summer, the kind you get 300 days of, we go out. To the mall to the grocery store, to the Park to the local museum to anywhere that does not look like the inside of a house.
It never ceases to amaze me people have trouble meeting anyone but then I would talk to the devil.
Anyway, dont just look for place where people meet. Be open to meeting people that means if the guy looking for the smallest onion in the bin at the local grocery store doesnt have a ring and looks single, make a comment on how hard it is to buy just one small onion for one person. Oh, and a big smile and a bit of lipgloss helps too.

| Arizona Posted: 1/24/2009 7:34:28 AM | Hey everyone...

| Arizona Posted: 1/27/2009 10:47:42 AM | Holy smokes pack light your gonna think its summer....... Last week it was in the high 70's to low 80's, today its cooler down to about 67.... LOL See everything you can the Grand Canyon is only 5 to 6 hrs drive tops (could be less from Phx area), Yuma and the Mexico boarder only 2 1/2 hrs away. Ghost towns and Laughlin, the London Bridge at Lake Havasu ...... 2 to 4 hrs tops. And perfect weather to do it in. Have fun Dreams | |

| Arizona Posted: 1/28/2009 1:23:12 PM | dont pull that spaghetti strap top out just yet... -it's only been in the 60s the last few days. -bundled up watching old tv show detective DVDs and drinking hot coffee/cocoa. (hate being cold) not sure what to do in mesa -its been years since i lived there. -i remember superstition springs mall off power rd, tubing on the salt river, and hiking in the superstition mtns. make sure you rent a car -something with lots or unlimited mileage. -plenty to see in/out of the valley. check out the zoo, botannical gardens next door and climb on the rocks in the papago park (they are all in the same place -located off galvin parkway) hike echo canyon (back of camelback mtn) or squaw peak park off 22nd st/glendale/lincoln. -forget hiking up the peak, -drive all the way to the back of the park and hike in the desert around the mountain (trail 304) bring a camera with you. not sure if its still a fun place to go -if you follow central ave south past baseline you can drive all the way up to the TV towers on south mountain. -however dont get caught in central south phoenix after dark! -unless you speak taco and have a gun. grab a copy of the PHOENIX NEW TIMES available at most Circle K stores on thrusdays. -once you weed through the porn and trannys, there is an entertainment section which details most of the night life in the valley. -avoid the casinos around here. -if you want to gamble - go to nevada. -laughlin is only about 4 hours away, you can get a room for around $20 a night mid week. if it does happan to warm up around here in the next couple weeks (it was 80 last week) -make sure you drink plenty of water -its very dry around here and dehydration will hit you like a ton of bricks. | |

Well if your watching the news and there happens to be a story about some woman running buck nakie around the Mesa area you guys will know its me enjoying the sun...
I have a car there so no problem with that.....I will have to do some exploring....
Casinos...well the first time I came to Arizona...I found I had a lot of time on my own ...so ventured out to some casino.....and won $8,000. bucks...so said I was never going back to give any of it back to them....so won't be doing that...
I did go to some bar ...and bumped into a bunch of Canadians that I knew from home..... so guess I will stop by there again.....
I want to drive out to Scottsdale I think and do some walking around...those other suggestions sound interesting....guess I will have to get myself a map and do some exploring...now the Grand Canyon is one place I think I should go....
Last year, went to down thru Yuma and ended up in San Diego.... | |

| Arizona Posted: 7/22/2009 4:09:53 PM | I can't say what there is to do, I seem to work to hard to ever find out but I can tell ya what NOT to do in the summer and thats to take a hike, its just too hot and it will kill you! Best time to hike is in the fall, winter or spring and even then, take lots of water, like a gallon. | |
