After your wine tasting people could head on over to Grand Rapids. Only if there hasn't been to much wine tasting. LOL Have a good time at your outing.

| Free Wine Tasting Muskegon Sat Jan 17 open house 5-7pm Posted: 12/30/2008 2:45:32 PM | I wish I lived closer. Actually I wish there was something like this over my way.
That being said....I'm not sure why you would schedule an event on the same day another event is taking place in west mi. Was it just an oversight? Just curious.
Hope you all have a great time.
Maybe one of these days someone will plan something for a Saturday or Sunday afternoon, not bar related, for those of us who do not care to be in a bar and for those of us who have to get to bed early. :) Just a thought.

| Free Wine Tasting Muskegon Sat Jan 17 open house 5-7pm Posted: 12/31/2008 1:21:51 AM | Rose It was an oversight, overlapping the parties. I have sent an e-mail to apologize to DH_Fun for scheduling this event on the same night.
I'm currently planning another event at a coffee shop in Muskegon on a weekend afternoon. Maybe it will be something you will want to attend. Stay tuned for more details....Kelly

I wish someone would do something in the afternoon over my way.
The event you are planning at the coffee shop....how many people does the coffee shop hold? The coffee shops around me are small independently owned places and can hold maybe ten people at the most. Do they have big coffee shops over in Muskegon?
Actually I like that idea. Afternoon, coffee (no alcohol), and most are non-smoking. :)
Which brings me to another subject. Alcohol. One of the reasons I don't do bars anymore is I am 56 years old. I've done my share of partying when I was young and I got it all out of my system a long time ago. I don't smoke and if I drink it's usually one or two and I'm done. The thing about meeting people in bars is most people have been drinking and you are not meeting the "real" person. I want to meet someone who is sober. Alcohol, as we all know, turns people into someone they are not whether that be happy, sloppy, funny, angry, or just plain stupid.
In the coffee shop idea they may be jacked up on caffeine but at least you see the real person. LOL
And don't even get me started on drinking and driving. :)
Hope you have a great time and if you know of anyone over my way who might be interested in doing an afternoon thingy let me know. I might be able to assist. :)

| Free Wine Tasting Muskegon Sat Jan 17 open house 5-7pm Posted: 1/10/2009 12:07:41 PM | Hey,
Not sure if I'll make this one or not but it is nice to see some stuff going on in the Muskegon area, and I do agree with that it's nice to have something other than a bar, how about a dinner party at a nice restaurant??? Or a movie night???
Pauline,
I just wanted to comment on the drinking and bars. I know what you mean about everyone going out to the bars and drinking. And I do agree that a bar isn't the place to meet that "someone" because of those situations. I post party's at bars with good music because I go because I love music and dancing. I don't drink or smoke at all, just love to dance and there's not much any where else that you can go to dance.
Just wanted to let ya know there are people that don't drink that go, and I'm finding a few others that are the same also.

| Free Wine Tasting Muskegon Sat Jan 17 open house 5-7pm Posted: 1/11/2009 6:32:02 AM | | Just to let everyone know I need four more people to sign up so I can do a mass mailing. I think a lot more people would come if they knew about it. A lot of people don't look at the local events but they will read something sent to their inbox. Then there those who have told me they will be there but haven't signed up! I think it should be a nice time! Kelly | |

| Free Wine Tasting Muskegon Sat Jan 17 open house 5-7pm Posted: 1/12/2009 10:41:19 AM | | Thanks to everyone for signing up so I could get the mass mailing out last night. I will suggest to go out to MAC's (Muskegon Athletic Club) or the Tipsy Toad after the wine tasting for dinner and/or drinks. Mac's is downtown Muskegon on the corner of Second and Western. It's a new upscale sports bar/restaurant. The Tipsy Toad is on Western Ave. For the member's that can't make it to the wine tasting maybe you could meet us at one of these two places. | |
