| Ufos in the Bible Posted: 12/27/2008 6:42:06 PM | First let me say, two things. I don't believe in UFOs since I've never seen one, but I do believe in the possibillty, especially with the discovery of watery planets around far away stars. I mean no disrespect to any religion or my Creator in asking this, it’s merely for fun debate. Now a few years ago I saw a History Channel Show called UFOs in the Bible. Ever since I was a child watching shows like Twilight Zone, especially the episode called Probe 7, Over and Out. It made me think when I read stories in the Bible. What do you all feel about the many references in the Bible that could be in modern day descriptions UFOs? I am going give one instance. I am using this one since I asked this very questions when conversing with my ex boss, a world renowned Jewish Physicist. I asked him to tell me how the Jews were lead to the Promised Land. Then he of course gave me the answer, I then said to him, would you say that what you just described to me could have been a UFO? He turned to me perplexed at first. I could see it in his eyes and raised eyebrows, then thought for moment, which I'm sure he had never connected the two together, and said, I believe it could be possible. There are many references in the Bible like this. I have this saying, If you and I were sitting in the deserts of the middle east 3000 years ago, and this space ship came down, then two beings came out said Hi to us, then got back in the ship, zoomed off never to be seen again. Exactly what words that were available to the people of those times would you choose to describe what we had just seen? What are you thoughts? | |

| Ufos in the Bible Posted: 12/27/2008 6:51:15 PM | Many descriptions of things that could be attributed to UFO's. Not only in the bible, but many other cultures have their stories, rock engravings and paintings, etc. Some may not "believe" in UFO's....until they see one. Then they refuse to even look for an explaination of what they saw! NO use pounding their heads against a wall....they'll only see what they want to see...that's it, that's all! | |

How is a pillar of smoke like a UFO? It sounds more like an active volcano to me.

I do know that the bible says that there are other worlds but I do not recall ever reading about UFOs but the more you seek the more is revealed to you... for me if the bible says that God used a pillar of smoke then a pillar of smoke it is... the Egyptians were highly intelligent, think pyramids... I can not see them being at a loss for words nor can I see the Israel people that way either.. read the building of the sanctuary, highly creative, craftsmen, artists, stone carvers and goldsmiths etc..... warmly Mona

GPS. The Jews invented it. It was the tribe of Garmins that led the way.

But you believe in god? Ever seen one?
As far as UFOs in the bible, UFO are described EVERYWHERE in early Arabic culture, Vatican paintings, Indian cave drawings, practically every culture on earth describes what could be UFOs that the natives of the time thought were "gods". It's not only in the bible.

| Ufos in the Bible Posted: 12/28/2008 9:46:52 AM | | I thought that the jews were lost in the desert until the generations who broke the commandments were all dead and gone. Oh and by being too stubborn to stop and ask for directions......... | |

| Ufos in the Bible Posted: 12/28/2008 10:32:42 PM | | An UFO is an Unidentified Flying Object, whether seen in the air or on the ground. The star which is it said the Magi followed as according to Matthew's account, qualifies as a UFO since the story says it "went before them and stood over where the young child was." The Greek word translated "star" can refer to any kind of point of light. Meteors, stars, planets, comets, etc. In the Matthew account it did something no astronomical object does. It is commonly believed the Magi were astrologers. The name Magi is the word from which we get our word magician. In Matthew's account being translated "wise men." | |

| Ufos in the Bible Posted: 12/29/2008 5:15:21 AM | I really don't get the relivance.
If there were UFO's in the bible, what does that prove? People have difficulty proving regular events that happened in the bible were true- now you wish to attach aliens to religion? Why? What would be the point? If everyone in the world agreed that those were UFO's in the bible, it doesn't make UFO's any more true, nor does it make the bible any more true.
This really reminds me of how Christianity connected with Pagan beliefs in order to gain support- it really made no sense back then, in a religious standpoint, and it wouldn't make any sense now- its merely an attempt to mix the two in hopes of making the idea of UFO's just as infallible as the word of God, while perverting the word of God to support a belief, since it cannot be supported by science.

Fair enough DR, if your opinion is that Z.S. is a fraud...do you have better suggestions and sources that a person could look to get more information and or a starting point for research into this area if the person was so inclined?

| Ufos in the Bible Posted: 2/28/2009 12:51:28 PM | Lost in the desert?
Ask how the Israelites got into Egypt first.
They walked down the road from "Palestine" to Egypt
The Mediterranean is to the North and the Red Sea is to the South Allegedly they crossed the Red Sea instead of taking route 66 to Palestine
Palestine had to be to the North East of Red Sea. How hard is it to get lost? The distance is about 100miles
Lost for 40 years eating manna from heaven obviously bizzarre stuff which disorients.
