| Possible Valentines Day/Night Get Together?

A friend and I were commenting how much fun it would be to put a personality together with all of your photos and profiles....
so, we have a thought that perhaps Valentines Day would be a good time for a meet.
What better way to meet folks from here than in a large group setting? Kind of takes the pressure off of meeting one on one, hmmm?
Anyway, our thoughts led us to thinking that a good place to meet would be the Cedar Rapids/Iowa City area.
Before we expound too much effort and time into planning one we would like to know how many of you would be interested in attending...... | |

Count me in, what an excellent way to skim the milk from the cream so to speak and find out who is for real or at least have a better idea plus make it easier for those on POF who are truly serious about this site and date or just looking to make new friends. We have all done the e mail, then phone, then meet and AHHHHH! so this would be a very good way of making it real, I compliment you on your idea as well as your friend! | |

Posted: 1/13/2009 4:58:44 PM | it's too far for my band wagon to travel to. Maybe Osky would be a good place. Or maybe on hiway 80 like in between Iowa City, Des moines, Waterloo, Osky/Ottumwa.
Bad thing is it's impossible to get people from the city to leave their city. | |

Posted: 1/14/2009 7:23:20 AM | Hey, I love the idea of having more pof get togethers! What a great way for people to meet face to face and get to know each other.
Another pof Valentine's Night party will be at Rick's "The Outfield" restaurant and bar in Richland, IA. Rick ,the owner, is a pof guy and has hired a dj/karaoke for the evening. We're planning to have a special dinner, decadent chocloate desert contest, and Valentine's King and Queen contest in addition to the dancing and music. The Outfield is a comfortable size place with a small restaurant on one side adjoining the dance floor/music venue on the other side. It's going to be a good time!

If people are worried about drinking and driving, bring a friend to be your designated driver! The more the merrier! I will meet with Rick this week and iron out the rest of the details and post them here. Invite your friends and come have a good time, it will be lots of fun! | |

I talked with Rick this afternoon and he will have prime rib that evening along with the regular menu plus complimentary champagne for everyone when we crown the Valentine King and Queen. Also the Decadent Chocolate Dessert Contest which will be sampled and voted on by party goers. The winner will receive a gift certifcate for two free dinners. | |

I am able to particpate in an activity that is within one hour of dm area.

Posted: 1/25/2009 3:07:19 PM | Hey everyone, this is Rick who owns the Outfield in Richland. Sue has done an incredible amount of work to get this thing on its feet and going strong. I promise you that everything on our end will be done nicely. We are wanting to create a atmosphere that everyone will enjoy with no pressure on anyone. One question that has come up to me from the local people is if it is only for singles. The answer is NO.....Couples are more than welcome for dinner and the entertainment. Please invite all of your friends to show up. If things go good, who knows what we will do in March....
