I like to slip under my blankey and sip on some tea while reading a book or watching a movie. Of course, this is when I am alone. I prefer snuggling under a blankie with an attractive belle (Anyone have an extra blankie and some room on their sofa???) | |

Posted: 1/14/2009 3:32:33 PM | i'm a furnace....it's -17 outside, upstairs the therm is at 72, much cooler in the lower level...gas fireplace hasn't even been turned on this season...and i'm in boxer briefs, slippers and an undershirt......can't even sleep with blankets , all this after spending 7 weeks in Parry Sound....I swear there was not a day without precipitation and only 2 days above zero | |

Posted: 1/14/2009 3:41:42 PM | Dinner will consist of a large hot bowl of soup. Later on, a cup of hot chocolate with a few drops of Bailey's Irish Cream. Combine that with a comforter for a good night's sleep.
A few years ago I was working in North Bay and the temperature was -40 for most of the day. The local radio station said they wouldn't tell us if the temperature was any colder as that was cold enough. When I was heading back to Toronto, my car didn't warm up until about Huntsville. | |

Posted: 1/14/2009 3:46:53 PM | Cold is a state of mind. I go outside and run the dog to stay warm. 
This afternoon's run was 6 km through Rockwood's conservation area bush trails. Between lots of elevation changes and even a bit of rock face climbing, it wasn't too hard to forget about the cold. Besides, the cold actual helps - it scares off those pesky mosquitoes and black flies.
Tomorrow's afternoon's run will probably be the badlands and rail trail near Cheltenham. So, you can take shelter and hide from winter, but I'm going outside and meet winter's best challenges head-on!

A couple of us ended up with some cold injuries actually. But hey, it's fun and we always know sooner or later we will be somewhere warm. I say get out and enjoy it! | |

I'm a coach for a running clinic and Wednesday evenings are practice run for our group. Although the temps are frigid (but less than yesterday!) we had a good group showing up tonight. Then my running buddy and I went for a 5k run as part of our training.
Nothing like a good run to keep you warm. I'm back home now, icing my tender ankle but feeling a lot better than I did this afternoon. I must say I really like winter running | |

The walk out is great excersize, drilling holes with a manual auger is hard work too. That and catching fish is fun!!! Does it get cold? Heck yes!!! Need boot andglove warmers and even with that I need to get home and soak in a hot tub for an hour to get the chill out. I'm a masochist I suppose lol. | |
