| One thing in a band you could change Posted: 1/17/2009 8:09:48 PM | I was talking with a buddy of mine yesterday and he introduced me to this band last night. He said, "The lead singer's voice is like a modern version of the singer from Rush." I said, "Maybe that's why I don't like them so much haha. The music itself is GREAT but the lead singer has to go... just like Rush."
Do you have a band that you have in mind when you hear this??

"A modern version of the singer from Rush"? That doesn't make much sense; the singer from Rush is still singing.
Yes, I understand what you are saying. The singer from this group (I wish I remembered the name...) his voice resembled the lead single from Rush, but in a more... I don't know... today sort of sound. The music was GREAT. The singer was very good himself. The pitch was just kind of annoying.
Rush's Geddy Lee is not just a vocalist. He is also a prolific songwriter and is an excellent bass player.
That he is, but in my opinion, he's a crappy singer {my opinion}
This thread really isn't about Rush though lol. Nickelback is another thing that bothers me. I don't like their music but they are... talented I guess. The singer would be great if it sounded like he was singing by himself. He sounds like he is singing with someone all the time... in every song. Kind of gets annoying.

| One thing in a band you could change Posted: 1/19/2009 10:58:06 PM | Yep, Geddy Lee has an annoying voice that I'd compare to the lead singer in Supertramp YUCK! But as much as I don't like Rush (the songs are boring and not very catchy) it wouldn't be Rush without him becuase it wouldn't have the same sound. I say they need to bring Steve Perry back to Journey and quit bringing in all these similar sounding vocalists! | |

| One thing in a band you could change Posted: 1/19/2009 11:46:57 PM | Geddy Lee is VERY talented all around. Great Bass player, great songwriter, and his voice matches the "progressive rock" label Rush has always had.
I'm a die hard Motley Crue fan. Vince Neil is so annoying since 1985, the Theatre of pain tour. He hasn't been able to sing except in the studio where all the magnicifent "magic" makes him sound overly decent.
And any AC/DC song just bugs me. Same old bridge, same old bass lines, same everything. Just like Def Leppard...all their songs sound the SAME!

| One thing in a band you could change Posted: 1/20/2009 7:40:51 PM | Ever hear Def Leppards first album? I love that dam album. I always screw with people and ask have them try to figure out who it is.. I'm still waiting for someone to get it.
I would change every metal song that rocks but for some reason has that terrible double time at the end
I would also ban and correct me on what it actually is, when the last chorus of the song is an octave higher or whatever but exactly the same. I love music but don't know the jargon. I love Nightwish but half of there songs do this and it drives me insane

That's how I feel about most Brittany Spears, Christina Agulara (wow I butchered her last name).... they all are starting to sound the same. The same beat you hear in every other song you hear on the radio. I'm not saying all of them sound BAD. But after you hear it once, you just kind of know it haha. Kind of disappointing.
(God I love protest the hero! So musically... ugh! love em )

| One thing in a band you could change Posted: 1/22/2009 6:31:15 AM | | Pearl Jam. I don't even have an opinion of the music because the vocals suck so bad and worse the begat the Nickelback type of bad vocal. And any hip-hop with vocoders. | |
