| Profiles don't match User Search Posted: 1/31/2009 9:17:26 AM | Is this a bug? I specified someone as a favorite a while back. Recently I find that entering her in User Search comes up blank. But if I look at my Favorites, she is still there, and I can still see the profile. My guess is that she has *checked out*, hence no User Search results. But her profile is still eating up space on your server. | |

Good point. But that makes the issue even more interesting. Does a Hidden Profile also imply that the person won't show up as matches? If so, then, presumably, her profile used to be Visible, and later was changed to hidden. Seems if that were chosen, then the person would not want it visible to those who made it a favorite (a designation over which she has no control).

Does a Hidden Profile also imply that the person won't show up as matches? Dunno. Hiding your profile removes you from some things, but not others. If her profile is hidden but she's still showing up on your My Matches page, then obviously hiding a profile doesn't remove you from that page.
To check whether her profile is hidden, copy the URL for it and try to access the page after you've logged out of your inbox. If the profile won't come up, she's hidden it.

| correction . . . Posted: 1/31/2009 1:37:12 PM | Recently I find that entering her in User Search comes up blank. A User Name Change would also fail to locate that User doing a User Search, but their Thumbnail Picture would still show up in your My Matches.
Good point. But that makes the issue even more interesting. Does a Hidden Profile also imply that the person won't show up as matches? Removes that User from all Search Pages and Results.
Seems if that were chosen, then the person would not want it visible to those who made it a favorite (a designation over which she has no control). Hidden Profiles will show when :

Curious ....will the person you wrote to if they haven't deleted your mail to them... your picture show there? Hiding your profile isn't the same as hiding your picture. Hiding your profile prevents you from showing up in search results, so yes, they'll still be able to see your picture in your mail. And by writing to someone you will have also given them a link to click on so they can find your profile as well.

| question Posted: 8/2/2009 12:17:44 PM | | I was on someones favourites list. I can still see that I am on their Favourites and can see their profile but they don't appear in My Matches or in a User Search. Is this because they have their profile hidden? If so, why can I still see them on 'who selected you as a favourite'? | |
|
| Profiles don't match User Search Posted: 8/2/2009 12:27:00 PM | | No it does not. If a person contacts you and hides their profile. As long as you have not deleted their email, you can still see them. | |
