I am a student of the craft, but in my heart I have been a believer for far longer. It is nice to see other Pagans and Wiccans online

| Wiccans and Pagans! Give Me That Old Time Religion! Posted: 10/10/2004 7:33:13 AM | Ok you guys...lets take it easy here....burnt once, twice shy. You guys should know the rules by now....pay lip service to another religion, while cloaking your true beliefs. Rarely, if ever admit to being what you truely are, and make sure your Chirstian brethern know not. No dancing "widdershins" in public places...unless that is called for, of course. Ok...sounds a bit paranoid....but believe me...lists are kept....and all it takes is one religious zealot to make your life rather uncomfortable. | |

| Wiccans and Pagans! Give Me That Old Time Religion! Posted: 10/14/2004 9:59:53 AM | Paganism and and Wiccan are earthen and limited at best because it very seldomly moves beyond the planetary consciousness and at best is a limited form of divinity that usualy excludes the Father spirit. It lacks Divine Cosmology. This art is wonderful for healing and learning the plants and animals, and especially the mother spirit and is for the feminine spirit to utilize because it is inherent to their origin. I call all forms of earth praticioners Shamans. They have the knowledge of plants and animals.
I will warn you about spiritism and exercising your will over other beings in directly or directly as evil and you should avoid this. That is considered black magic even if you think you are doing the right thing.
"As above so below" is the same concepts you will find in the bible strange that this means "God's will be done". The reason paganism is frowned on is the simple fact that certain inquitious beings have spent a great deal of time and effort stripping the Mother Spirit from this world for thousands of years and most of the knowledge of her is lost. They are raping the mother will such force I'm outraged.

| Wiccans and Pagans! Give Me That Old Time Religion! Posted: 10/14/2004 10:03:11 AM | | How many of you know what the 'Tree of Life' is? I will explain if you do not. It's the origin of all relgion on earth and of all things. It's an occult secret originating from Moses of all places. Moses was a shaman and prophet... fyi | |

| Wiccans and Pagans! Give Me That Old Time Religion! Posted: 10/14/2004 11:13:59 AM | rooted in the lower realm, its trunk extends upwards, through the middle world and into the upper world, where its branches hold the stars, the sun and the moon...
the celtic shaman traverses the realms by climbing the tree into the Upper world. This is the realm of stars, celetial beings, and is the dwelling place of many gods and spirits of the air, and of the great Mother Goddess herself.
The lower world can be reached by descending the roots of the massive tree into the realm of the spirits of the earth and fire, where sits the stag-headed Lord of the Underworld, the horned one, protector of the animals. Here the Celtic Shaman can meet with helper power animals and spirit guides...all three worlds are linked by the great tree, and yet the tree itself and all of the universe are believed contained within the shell of a single hazelnut, lying next to the well of segais (the source of all wisdom.)
gotta love my metal.. lol

Interesting similarity that holds much truth... The Tree of Life is you... Your roots grow into the mother and you spirit reached to the father. This is the base reality of the dead sea scrolls. It goes much deeper than that and the secret of the rainbow is also invovled with the tree of life. The mother gives you the bones and flesh and the father give you the spirit. In wicca it is called the bone of the mother. The womb of the Mother, Mother Universe, Mother goddess, and the tale of Tiamat tells of the universe being born from her womb. The Mother is the physical universe and the Father is the spiritual universe. That is why in the 10 commandments, the real version, it states that "Respect thy heavenly father and earthly mother. I have to go back and look again... I forgot wether is was heavenly mother or not so I will get back to you on this one. I am pretty sure it's earthly, but it has been a long time since I have read the scrolls, regardless the point being is the mother and the father are equal but very different. The whole underworld concept goes way back that is another story for another time.
Interesting side note: The first thing man/woman worshipped were rocks.
I still want one of these Christians who support creationism to tell me why there is a 10,000 BC pyrimid underwater off the coast of Japan and where it came from, who built it, why it is there?
Do you know the secret of the rainbow?

| Wiccans and Pagans! Give Me That Old Time Religion! Posted: 10/14/2004 4:57:15 PM | You can still believe in creationism and also believe that Earth is far older than a literal reading of the Bible permits. I am a Christian and I believe in both creation and evolution. I do believe that the universe was created, but I also can see that organisms are constantly adapting to their surroundings. Species come and go. The first 7 "days" were not 24 hour periods as we know days, but billions of years condensed figuratively.
I also believe there are things that just cannot be explained. A lot of Christians chalk up the unexplained to demonic activity (ghosts, aliens, etc.). The pyramid, I don't know what to say. But like I said, I don't believe the world is only thousands of years old. I believe that most likely there is life elsewhere in the universe.
As for other religions, I don't believe they're all going to Hell. I may be in a small minority of my Christian bretheren (sad, really), but just because I don't understand something does not mean that it's evil and demonic. I do believe in an afterlife, heaven or Hell, but I don't necessarily believe that either one is what our conventional conception of it is. I quite doubt heaven is actual golden streets and pearly gates or Hell is fire and brimstone. I believe good and evil lies in a person's heart and the actions that come from that, not whether one follows a certain set of rules.

| Wiccans and Pagans! Give Me That Old Time Religion! Posted: 10/14/2004 5:55:03 PM | Yes, I will have to agree about the universe being created no argument there. Accidents don't happen that create 450 billion galaxies. I also agree about the seven days and I convinced that the first few 12 verses, think 12, are relating to quantum physics and the teragrammaton is even more interesting and scientific sounding.
Demonic is fear based but there are forces out there that have the ability to possess people. I've encountered it twice and they are very powerful. You will find this interesting... the demons/? can't stand Psalms if you read it to them, anyway this is also another topic for another time. I dont' really call them demons but I'm going to spare the people in this post my knowledge on this.
You might be suprised about a perfected worlds in paradise. Some of the temples talked about in the bible are real places. Different parts of the administration, like the elders reside in this various places. I often refer to occult meanings in the bible and understanding these administrations will help explain the various temples and councils that really do exist in the central universe, or paradise, heaven whatever name you want to give it. Can you imagine a divine world that has been perfected over billions of years?
It wouldn't be visible to us on this level or consciouness because we are not aware of the higher powers. Many people dream about these places or are even visit them while they sleep and are taught. Some people talk about astral projection, but beware of the lower levels of the adminstration they are not complete dinvinity and can be harmful to you if you aren't aware enough to understand what you are dealing with. The reason most don't see these places is because they can't even see themselves.
I posted some information on how to advance your own ability in other posts and actually visit these places.

| Wiccans and Pagans! Give Me That Old Time Religion! Posted: 10/14/2004 8:12:05 PM | | Sweet... I studied with an Apache Shaman and a Blackfoot Shaman for years. I have a great love for the Native Americans because they seem to have been one of the few peoples that walked on Mother Eath in respect and I love that. If you didn't see in some of my past posts one of my favorite expression for God is the 'Great Spirit'. | |

| Wiccans and Pagans! Give Me That Old Time Religion! Posted: 10/15/2004 12:43:03 PM | | Why don't you read them Yna6? Use your spirit in the consciousness and see if they are going to use the knowledge wisely? Sometimes people need to experience things for themselves in order to understand and no matter how much you wish to protect them it will not change what they need to learn. Failure is the best method to learning how to get it right. When you get burned by fire you will learn very fast not to stick you hand in it... this is called wisdom. | |

| Wiccans and Pagans! Give Me That Old Time Religion! Posted: 10/17/2004 6:14:07 PM | Just adding my voice to the song...
I am not Wiccan and I don't follow any organized religious school.
I follow the Goddess Path, and my path is my own. I posted some info in another thread about religion--manic poet's thread, I believe, so I won't repeat it all here.
Namaste everyone...

| Wiccans and Pagans! Give Me That Old Time Religion! Posted: 10/28/2004 5:44:31 PM | I, too, am interested in the old ways, I feel more eclectic tho, I study the Goddess, Wiccan and several others. Finding my path to it felt to me like coming home, a place I truly belonged. The one thing I find disconcerting tho is that most folks who know me look at me like I am crazy or in a dream world if I mention my learnings. I really wish I had the opportunity to meet someone close to my area that have similar knowledge or beliefs.
I am an avid collector of literature relating to Paganism, Wicca, Goddess Studies. I have a nice collection of mythological items such as Dragons and castles and have 6 new magickal wands for my collection.
