| Looking For Awesome Chicken Wing Sauces Posted: 2/28/2009 12:49:50 PM | Simple buffalo sauce my mom makes at her restaurant:
Mild sauce 1/4 cup hot sauce 3/4 cup melted butter (no substitutes)
Mix thoroughly. Cook wings and coat with the sauce
Hot sauce 1/4 cup melted butter (no substitutes) 3/4 cup hot sauce
Mix thoroughly. Cook wings and coat with the sauce
Dont forget the celery and blue cheese dressing! If you like, after coating the wings broil them for about 2-3 minutes until they are bubbly.

| Looking For Awesome Chicken Wing Sauces Posted: 2/28/2009 12:53:54 PM | Teriyaki sauce
1/3 cup soy sauce 1/3 cup water 1/3 cup cooking sherry 1/4 cup brown sugar 1 tbsp minced garlic 1/2 tsp ground ginger or 1 tsp fresh minced ginger
Mix together and marinate wings at least 8 hours or overnight. Fry or bake or broil the wings. IMHO I like them best baked at 400 degrees F for about 15-20 minutes till crispy.
You can use this marinade on any meat and it is awesome when you grill the meat. My fav is chicken or pork.

| Looking For Awesome Chicken Wing Sauces Posted: 2/28/2009 4:53:50 PM | Add some hotsauce (I like Frank's) to half of CD's teriyaki mix ^^ and it's a "two-fer" mixture for a party crowd . Or cook 'em in the original mix & serve both versions as dips .
1/2 bluecheese 1/2 ranch is another good celery dunker .
ranch is also awesome on onion rings .

1 Package Chicken Wings 1 Egg (beaten) 1 Cup Flour 1 Cup Margarine SAUCE: 3 Tbsp. Soya Sauce 3 Tbsp. Water 1 Cup White Sugar ½ Cup Vinegar ¼ Cup Cornstarch Water
CHICKEN: 1. Dip chicken wings in egg and then the flour. 2. Fry in margarine until brown and crisp. 3. Put into a roasting pan. 4. Pour sauce over wings and bake. 5. Bake at 350°F for 1 hour.
SAUCE: 1. Boil soya sauce, water, sugar and vinegar together. 2. Mix cornstarch and a small amount of water at a time to make a thickening agent. 3. When soya sauce mixture comes to a boil, add cornstarch mixture.

| Thanks for all the great ideas so far.... Posted: 3/5/2009 11:33:40 AM | here's one that kind of tastes like a teriyaki wing and it's really simple.
2 small bottles of soy sauce (lite) 10 oz. bottles 1 cup gin garlic powder to taste (about 1-2 T. should do it)
marinade chicken in this sauce for at least one hour (the longer the better) bake at 350 degrees until it's done to your likeness. ( i like to let mine get kinda dark)
use leftover sauce to keep chicken from drying out when reheating.

| Looking For Awesome Chicken Wing Sauces Posted: 3/5/2009 11:00:44 PM | hey if ya want a pub style spicy wings just use franks red hot after cooked or strait honey and fresh pressed garlic and a lil soya sauce too and heat in a pot till simmering. good trick is season a pot of boiling water first toss yer wings in er till mostly cooked and then dry off on paper towel coat with egg then flour (seasoned) then deep fry or bake then toss with what ever sauce youd like
also if you use chicken legs cut thru skin and all on the skinny endof the leg then boil and fry ( it makes the bone come thru for cleaner easyer handleing lil somethin that impresses ppl.)

| Looking For Awesome Chicken Wing Sauces Posted: 3/6/2009 4:46:10 PM | | What i did last time was i got a big thing of ranch dressing and some budweiser mild wing sauce, i seasoned the wings first then added a bottle of the budweiser sauce and a lil bit of the ranch dressing and marinated over night. They came out excellent but i would not use the same sauce to marinade like i did, instead bake or deep fat fry the wings first and then mix, id say probaly 2 bottles of the budweiser sauce and a lil bit of ranch and pour over wings. | |

OMG, they were simply to die for! I have tried to figure out how to make them myself but not with much luck? There are some wonderful recipes here though. Going to have to try some of them for sure! You guys all rock!

| Looking For Awesome Chicken Wing Sauces Posted: 3/6/2009 10:25:19 PM | Hi
This would depend on whether you want, Hot, Screamin' Hot or Sucicide Wings.
For Hot wings,
Deep fry wings, dredge in Dirkey's or Frank's Hot sauce and sprinkle with Cajun Spice. (Yes it's the Cajun spice that makes the difference,--the finish)
For Screamin Hot wings,:
In a blender blend 2 garlic cloves, 1/2 small onion , 1 bottle of Dirkeys or Frank's Hot sauce and the juice from one can of Jalipino peppers. Heat through and save overnight if you can so flavors can meld.
Dredge deep fried wings with reheated sauce and finish with Cajun spice
For Suicide Wings:
In a blender blend 2 garlic cloves, 1 small onion , 1 bottle of Dirkeys or Frank's Hot sauce and a can of Jilapio peppers with juice and a a tablespoon of Cajun spice. Blend until pureed and heat through. Save overnight for best flavor. Reheat, dredge deep fried wings in sauce and, as always, finish with cajun spice.
I've experienced other recipes that are admittedly hotter than these, but I've found that flavor has been lost for the elusive name of "hottest". Are we eating for enjoyment or "kahonas", however that's properly spelled. (Kahonas in reference to food and proper--------is that an oxymoron??? )
Sweet dreams and be safe.

| Looking For Awesome Chicken Wing Sauces Posted: 3/6/2009 10:36:31 PM | From my friend's bar - we'd make 100+ lbs. every weekend depending on what games were televised.
Suicide Chicken Wings 2-1/2 cups red hot pepper sauce 2 tbsp. garlic powder 2 tbsp. chicken base powder 1 tsp. black pepper, freshly ground 1/2 tsp. white pepper, freshly ground 2 tbsp. Tabasco sauce 5 fl. oz. commercial barbecue sauce, any flavour 5 fl. oz. honey-garlic sauce 2 tbsp. cayenne pepper, or to taste 1 tsp. Mexican chili powder, or to taste 1 tbsp. brown sugar 5 lbs. fresh chicken wings
Mix all the ingredients for the sauce and place mixture in a large glass bowl or salad spinner. Cut the wings in two; discard tips. Heat deep fryer to 325-350°F and deep fry the wings in the hot oil. As they rise to the top, remove and place them, batch by batch, in the sauce. Mix to completely coat, or give them a couple of twirls if using salad spinner. Remove them from the bowl or spinner and grill them for 10-15 minutes on the grill at a medium heat.
Note: If you don't want to deep fry, bake wings at 350°F until cooked and juices run clear. Place cooked wings in sauce to coat; remove from sauce; bake at 325°F for 15-20 minutes.
Note: When finished, drain the remaining sauce through a fine sieve or cheesecloth and store in a glass jar in a cool, dark place. This is the base to be used when making a new batch of sauce.
Warning: The longer the sauce sits, the hotter it gets.

| Looking For Awesome Chicken Wing Sauces Posted: 3/9/2009 1:48:33 PM | I start with Stubb's Spicy BBQ sauce... 1/2 bottle of BBQ sauce 1 Tbsp. Horseradish 1 Tbsp. Tabasco (Chipotle flavored) 1 tsp. crushed garlic wings (rubbed with cajun powder and left overnight)
To do these on the grill, I start out on high to get them seared and crispy, then lower heat and cook til done. Toss in a large bowl with the sauce. I don't put any sauce on them until AFTER they are cooked, they don't get so sticky and helps to keep the grill cleaner.
And it SOY sauce not SOYA
