For one brief moment
Time stood still
Overtaken by beauty
Was it real?
Blinked my eyes
To see if it would fade
There it still was
A believer of me it had made
Something so wonderous
Thought I would never see
Who was this?
What was she?
Was she an angel?
Was she a goddess?
If I asked, would she tell the truth,
Or would she be modest?
I should talk to her
But I don't know how
How do you approach someone
That should live above the clouds?
When I do find out how
When I figure out a way
I know it will forever be

So many questions there are
And answers there are few
Will you ever find that someone?
Are they looking for you?
Are they out there?
Like you, ae they waiting?
Are they also searching?
Are they too, contemplating?
Can't rush time
Can't hurry it along
Can't give up
Got to stay strong
You will find that person
And when you do
You will know deep in your heart

Darkened sky
Stars shinning bright
I see one shoot by
Then lose it into the night
Soft breeze blowing
Feeling cool on my face
Leaves rustle near by
Trees sway with grace
Ever so quiet
Only crickets chirpping along
And in a harmonic symphony
A nightengale sings it's song
No hustle and bustle
Except a few insects on the ground
No bright city lights
Just the moon gleaming down
It's a peaceful time
One I wish didn't have to end
But soon I'll have to go back

Staring at the ceiling, alone in his bed
Thoughts of her filling up his head
Such sweet thoughts of beauty and grace
Thoughts of her smile, her laugh, her pretty face
Thoughts of her smooth skin, and tender touch
Thoughts of how he wants her so very much
Thoughts of holding her close each and every night
Wrapping her in his arms till the dawns early light
Thoughts of seeing those gorgeous cherry hued lips
And waking her up with a mornings passionate kiss
Thoughts of rising her out of her slumbering state
Just to keep holding her, making her get up late
Thoughts of looking into her wonderful gaze
Wanting to keep her happy the rest of his days
Thoughts of the greatest lady that he has ever known
And that being without her is the worse kind of alone
Knowing these are qualities that he has always sought
But also knowing these are still just thoughts. | |

I use that memory every time I need to bring back a smile that seemed lost. you were so beautiful, so vibrant and full of life. It was so many years ago. We were so young. It was a time when the world was ours for the taking, and we were going to have it. A time of over the top antics, care free attitudes, and spontaneous adventures. I look back at those times and remember how we were. We have changed so much in some ways and yet so little in others. Im not even sure what happened between us, but slowly we drifted apart, making our own seperate way in life. That was almost sixty years ago now. We were just teenagers then but we knew it all. I look back on us and how I was with you, and can't help but laugh a little. You were my first love. My one real love before I even knew what love was. So this one worn out memory that I have left, I will always keep because my heart will always keep that one special place in it for you. | |
