| Bin Laden accuses Arab leaders, denounces "Gaza Holocaust" Posted: 3/15/2009 8:11:29 AM |
Bin Laden accuses Arab leaders Bin Laden called for the formation of an Islamic advisory body of devoted scholars [File]
Osama bin Laden, the leader of al-Qaeda, has said in an audio tape obtained by Al Jazeera that some Arab leaders were "complicit" with Israel during its offensive in Gaza.
Bin Laden said in the tape aired on Saturday that Arab leaders were "hypocrites", and that "liberating Jerusalem needed honest Arab leadership" to fight and liberate the Arab people.
"It has become clear that some Arab leaders were complicit with the crusade zionist alliance against our people. These are the leaders that America calls moderate," bin Laden said.
'Holocaust'
He said that "Gaza's holocaust" was a "historic event and a tragedy" adding that the Arab world needed a "devoted committee of scholars from the Islamic world to establish an advisory body" on the future of the region, "not leadership that is formed by hypocrites".
Al-Qaeda's leader also called for support for the mujahidin in Iraq and said that his network of fighters would "go to Jordan from the sea to the river to liberate Palestine".
The tape, whose authenticity could not be verified, was the second by the al-Qaeda leader in two months in which he has focused on the Gaza offensive.
In an audio tape posted on an internet site on January 14, he called on Muslims across the world to take revenge against Israel for the war on the coastal territory.
He said that the onslaught had been timed to take advantage of the dying days of the presidency of George Bush, the former US president.
The 22-day Israeli offensive on Gaza over the new year, killed more than 1,300 Palestinians. http://english.aljazeera.net/news/middleeast/2009/03/2009314132235318670.html
Hmm, very very interesting. Although not surprising at all. If Bin Laden is alive, the fact that he denounces Arab leaders isn't that big of a surprise. While the two have some of the same beliefs, the Arab leaders have often felt that Bin Laden was to extreme and a detriment to their culture and religion. I'm sure that this latest stunt will do nothing for him.

| Bin Laden accuses Arab leaders, denounces Gaza Holocaust Posted: 3/15/2009 9:05:31 AM | | I sincerely hope that Arab leaders don't listen to this call to more militant agendas. Israel has a large group of dissenters against military offensives in Gaza and Lebanon, with some soldiers refusing to serve. However, that is because Israelis see that some Arabs are moderates, who are calling for an end to violence on their side as well, leading Israelis to believe that if Israel stops fighting, then so will the Palestinians. However, if those moderates disappear, then Israelis will see no more reason to think that the Palestinians might be persuaded to stop fighting, and that the only choice for Israel is to defend itself from those attacks, by fighting back. | |

ptercar ... you and what army? If you're counting on the US Army or any US Armed Services ... better go get some other kind of back up ...
I just love it when people try to insinuate that the US could go anywhere and kick a$$. In case no one has noticed ... those days have been over since before Viet Nam ... eh?[]/quote]
I think that is why he invited him to Georgia so he could do it himself, but I don't want to put words into his mouth.
Actually, I don't want to see any more violence on either part over there, but if things don't even up sometime soon, someone is going to have to do something about it.
It's getting to the point that we just can't continue to let the Zionists (Israeli leadership) keep killing off the Palestinians like that. Someone needs to stand up for them and demand justice. Just understand ... it sure won't be Washington. AIPAC, for one ... has Washington in their back pocket.
So you are agreeing with Bin Laden in the complacency of the Arab Leaders and that they need to step up and do something?
Don't get me wrong, there is a lot that needs to be done there, but I don't know ifI'd want the principle participants in the war to try and settle it themselves. We've tried that before, and believe you me, it has worked wonderfully.
I don't know if there is a solution anymore. I'd like to believe it is possible, but I'd also like to believe that I could walk down the street without being called a fatso.
I also don't think that Bin Laden is going to help anyway at all. To me, that is like you have a house and a campfire, and here comes someone to pour gasoline between the two. It's a bad idea.

So you are agreeing with Bin Laden in the complacency of the Arab Leaders and that they need to step up and do something? ... but I don't know ifI'd want the principle participants in the war to try and settle it themselves. I think at the "negotiation table" ... there should be more than just Israeli Zionists and Palestinian leaders ... that's for sure.
I'm saying we need to include all the principle participants in the negotiations. Without them at the table too ... to speak for themselves ... how can anyone negotiate anything? Wouldn't that be like trying to negotiate with a distraught neighbor and they are not there to tell their side or promise to anything?
Another problem we have in general there ... is that no one really believes the Israeli leaders anymore. They make promise after promise and never keep them ... probably never even intend to keep them. No one believes them anymore, and that sure doesn't help things either.
Now that I have said that, just watch for the thread to get all clobbered up with all kinds of pro-Zionist posts. All I can say is ... they will attack anything anyone says that might in any way favor the Palestinians. So be prepared.
