Following on from the thread about self esteem and shallow men it got me wondering how people percieve those with preferences for skin colour on their profiles i.e 'Female seeking black males only' or vice versa.
Would those posters that agreed size is shallow also agree that colour is also or is it just simply preference or maybe you view it as being racist considering we arent allowed to discriminate against skin colour in all other areas of our lives ?

I've dated a Swede, an Egyptian, a Black Afro Caribbean and an Indian (although he insisted he was Persian!!)... I've dated a 6 foot 8 guy and a 5 foot 4 guy too...
That is my personal choice, if someone flicks my on switches then it matters not what colour or size they are...
I certainly wouldn't call it racist if someone has a preference but I would think it sad that a whole group of potentially wonderful people are excluded without a second thought...
Should I call you a sexist homophobic just because your preference is for women? Course not...  | |

I myself think it is only right to actually state your preference on your profile..it is after all primarily a dating site . So if you only want to bang black men , then just say so ..
Its quite tiring having to keep reading how people get so upset that others dare to have a preference.

just as we can say which age group we prefer and wether we want children or not.. we have a choice as to be as selective as we want in the type of physical appearance we prefer.. all aspects of physical appearance.. | |

Posted: 3/16/2009 7:15:05 AM | Everyone has general preferences regarding looks (which can include race as well as size hair colour etc), but sometimes you find yourself attracted to someone who isn't your usual type. I don't see how you can 100% rule out certain races unless you have some kind of issue with it (even if its not full blown racism)
Personally I would be instantly put off by anyone who stated they don't date outside their race - regardless of whether I matched their criteria. | |

Posted: 3/16/2009 7:17:53 AM | i think every one has there personal preferences, i do have a few but dont state them on mi profile, im attracted by personality and the way the guy treats me , but do have a preference for black, mix race or white guys, im not rascist and clearly unltimateli would be with the guy because he treated me well , some guys like asian women or other nationalities, i also prefer a taller guy, again it wudnt stop me being friends with a guy who didnt fit mi preferences , as friends and lovers for me r seperate, ultimately we all have different preferences regarding colour size etc, do u have any preferences urself macforty xx | |

I'm not having a go or accusing you of racism, I'm just intrigued..
How can you say that you know 100% you would never fancy someone with black skin? You're effectively saying that you could meet your perfect match, but even if he was perfect in every way, you wouldn't go out with him because of his skin colour. Which effectively means that you consider his skin colour more important than anything else. Is that not racism?
What about mixed race? How white do they need to be? | |

Some black men I find attractive, chinese etc but never found an asian man attractive.
I dont like the features, the skin tone, and if they are not from england I HATE the accent.
Just not for me.
Just like I'd never date a ginger guy. Not my thing.
I want a big beefy shaved headed white guy.

I can say that because at different time in my life i've met a black guy, an albanian guy and a turkish guy... All i've had the chance to date but i couldnt because im simply not attracted to them... Yes i gave them a chance.They were nice guys just not for me.....
You are the reason that personal preference of colour is not an option for us....You are questioning my personal preference trying to insinuate im racist...are you not ??

I have my own preferences too and it does make me uncomfortable to admit them (so I won't out loud) and to exclude people on the basis of their genetic make up. | |
