| Looking for an older but new laptop battery in Calgary, AB
Posted: 3/22/2009 10:01:30 AM | I have a Toshiba Satellite a-100 ta6 laptop computer. In the last week I realized that the battery can no longer hold a charge. I've had this laptop for a little over 2 years. It's still in good condition and I don't want to buy a new laptop right now. I was wondering if anyone knows of a place to where I would be able to get a new battery for it? I've looked online and I haven't really gotten anywhere.
If someone out there is able to help me out that would be awesome. Any information you guys can provide would be greatly appreciated.

They'll take out the old cells and replace them with higher capacity ones. It isn't the cheapest alternative, but if it's an old battery, it's convenient and it's good for the environment. | |

Posted: 3/26/2009 7:03:15 PM | I rebuilt my own battery pack when I had trouble finding one. You have to be really really adventuresome to do that, but it can be done by someone who has some skills.
Online prices for a battery pack online ranged from around $180-$400. I bought the cells for around $50. However, it was a several hour job to chisel the old pack apart, to solder up the individual cells, and glue it all back together so that it still fit properly into its hole. Note also that if you short a cell or make a mistake in polarity, you could start a spectacular fire. | |

There's a place in Lethbridge called Lethbridge Battery thats very good at rebuilding the old ones just a thought
