Posted: 3/22/2009 12:59:00 PM | I find many people in general can be like this~ though many men do like to take their space so I find just giving them what they appear to be asking for has helped in many a relationship.
Keep doing your thing seeing friends going to a movie etc~ a real man will appreciate you respecting his space and taht you are comfortable with yourself when he is not around. | |

My guess for a generalization that may well be wrong some of the time is that some things are only desirable until obtained. IOW, you want something and will do almost anything to get it and then once you have it, you no longer want it which can make sense if the initial curiousity has been satisfied. | |

Its really quite simple, your dating a short time a guy tells you he loves you that quickly, he's either very needy or doesn't know his ass from his elbow and can change his mind faster than a politician , or he's trying to pull a fast one on you. | |

Posted: 3/22/2009 2:18:05 PM | Although I do agree with most of the comments on here..especially yours Iceman...I can't help but relate to the OP....I consider myself a well adjusted woman who cares too much about herself to be treated this way, but I too have been in the OP's shoes and it is painful and frustrating...so yeah it is so easy to give the OP advice on not putting up with this crap, but for those that have walked her shoes would know that sometimes it's so damn hard when emotions get in the way...like I said it is always easier to give advice...
I think what the OP would like to know is why HE is acting this way…what goes on in a man’s head when he decides to be all loving one day then withdraw the next? What is he thinking during that absence….? | |

For starters then: Mixed Messages = Mixed Emotions
There is a distinction, or so I think, between flakey people who have flakey behaviour and reasonably grounded people who get overwhelmed by their situation or feelings and have to step back for a bit to catch their breath/evaluate the situation.
Starting out, no one ever knows with any certainty where things are going to go. Sometimes people start out great guns and then their emotions or head catches up to them and they take a step back for a bit to reevaluate.
Some people get scared.
Some people realize that this isn't what they thought it was when they were all caught up in those heady early day feelings.
Some people feel on the brink of a deeper commitment and pause to feel (or think) if that is where they want to or should go. | |

Posted: 3/22/2009 2:35:25 PM | hold up Arabianangel, many others were in the OP position too, and most of them who figured it out finally admitted OOPS, I pooched screwed by ignoring the warning signs or Red Flags to others.
If im in the beginning stages of a relationship and a woman is telling me after a month she loves me blah blah blah, warning signs are going off in my head, " danger will robinson danger" im having a talk with this woman to see where is her head, Ive found that people who claim they love that quickly falls out of love just as fast, you want some proof look at some of the threads.
Eg; This person moved in after 3 months of dating, they were hot and heavy and one day the partner got up and left broke up with them by text, note on a pigeon, email, snail mail from another country blah blah blah. we hear stories like that all the time.
My point is too many people ignore the warning signs because they think 1) it cant happen to them 2) it only happens to stupid people 3) there emotions in most cases are acting without the benefit of intellect. | |

A helpful thing is sometimes follow up what you've said with , " did I say that right?". Usually the other person will respond. If there's a misunderstanding, well you can sort it out there! Instead of taking it home and trying to digest, analize it! And that can cause the "Yo, Yo" effect. | |
