I always thought that people like you for who YOU Are as a person not what you look like. I guess its a material world nowadays you need to be as fake and glam as possible to get noticed. So whats the Issue with long hair on guys ? | |

If you refuse to cut your hair, Sampson, don't cut your freakin' hair. You'll then attract the type of girl that goes for that look... but not EVERY damned girl, for crying out loud. Some will like it, some won't. Today isn't any more about physical attraction than yesterday was. It's not about being "fake" or "glam." It's about what some people find attractive and what some people don't. It always has been and always will be about what we look like in addition to who we are. Few of us attract everyone.
Trust me. There's nothing odd or unique about long hair. It's just a preference. | |

I grow my hair and donate it to Locks of Love.
They make wigs from donated hair and give them to children who have lost their hair due to cancer treatments.
My hair length changes all the time.
Women are attracted to me no-matter how long it is.
They Do like me for who I am.!!
Why don't they like you?

Hope they don't go for that TMZ look. Those dudes totally "look like ladies". That Aerosmith song "Dude Looks Like A Lady" song screams out every time!
I was also once embarrassed at the animal shelter when I thought this guy was a woman. He had beautiful long hair. I though he was waiting for the ladies room. He turned around he was a he! I never judged the type of dog he had (German Shepard) as I like Rotties and pit bulls. | |

Pulled back or braided it better, but if the hair is greasy it's just comes away

I am attracted to men who are in a professional field (white collar), and that usually requires short hair. Not to say I haven't dated men with long hair and working in all kinds of professions.
To each their own......that's what makes life interesting and everyone not looking the same or wanting the same!
Your question was about long hair, but I just read your profile Op.......hair issues are not your main problem. Seriously, if you want a date, you really need to revamp your profile. Sorry, thats what happens when you start a post on forums.....people want to know more about you and where your thoughts are coming from. Please consider this helpful criticism and not an attact. | |

I believe we should all be a little flexible and accomodating to whatever setting we find ourselves in, and act accordingly. Yeah, statistically speaking, most women who you'd find attractive don't find it attractive on 99% of men.
Personally I look like a tool with short hair so Im not about to cut mine for some silly preferences.
First, it's not a silly preference, otherwise your thread post wouldn't have been made. Second, YOU may not know if you really look like a tool or not. Girls will have a better handle on that. I had long hair in the late 90s, right after it went out of style. I got it chopped. I thought I looked like an idiot. Many months later I saw pictures of myself with long hair. I burned them. :) (Okay, not literally, but you get the idea). You have to understand you have a huge bias towards your hair. My mom has a lunch-lady haircut and spends ton of time on it and everything else -- she'd feel she'd look silly not with it.
Hey, do what you're comfortable with -- but that doesn't mean it's a good look at all... and it doesn't mean you WOULDN'T thank yourself later on after adjusting, that you cut it.
It's not about having a Hollywood haircut or being pimped out, but long hair especially in combination with one's style says something about what 'type' they are, in general. A gal may think you're a nice, guy, sure, but that's not what it's about. Girls like guys who have a sense of fashionable upkeep, and longhair 99% of the time, doesn't cut it at all. | |

Don't worry about it though, OP, most people do not really like people at all anyhow, let alone like them for who they really are inside.
As for looking fake and glam-- the last time David Bowie was popular, so was long hair.
As for looking like a tool with short hair, fine. But do not expect people's attitudes to change significantly.
EDIT: Michael Bolton ? Seriously ?

There isn't one. If it looks good on you and you like it, keep it. It boils down to preference. There are some people who don't like my red hair, but plenty who do. Be who you are and you will attract someone who likes who you are. | |

For me its short, but not too short spiky hair. Everything else gets some attention but not nearly as much. That and Americans (at least in LA), like me better then my fellow Canadians. That black looks better on me than white. That only a goatee or being clean shaven looks good on me and everything else looks like pubic hair..
See what I mean, perhaps long hair doesn't suit you. But who gives a crap.
