Posted: 3/30/2009 3:28:25 PM | | The best excuse I've heard is that a guy didn't want his students to see him. He said they were in his dating range. He was 50ish and taught college. I'm assuming his students were approx half his age. Then he sent me his picture. I didn't even ask for it because I really am not interested if you can't put your picture up to begin with. I told him I was too mature for him and go wait by the school bus for those more of his mental age. | |

(I'm quite average looking.) Now I receive emails from people who read my profile. Decreased quantity, but increased quality. | |

Posted: 3/30/2009 9:15:22 PM | I think Honcho is right. I have had many many requests from co-workers on how to do things with their computers. And I believe the vast majority of user does not know the ins and outs of their computer. Just need to look at how many people have wireless internet networks in their homes with no security on them.
For me a picture is based much on interpretation. You and I all have eyes, and based on our individual perception our eyes could paint a good or bad picture of another person. this picture could very well have no baring on who that person is. So I try to read the profiles, and to feel the feelings of the matches I have regardless of the picture.
I see many profiles with beautiful women but not much content to read, and yet others with poor pictures and lovely content. Often the pictures i skip over are the women that decide to put in pictures reveling a bit more when they are posted as looking for friends and the like. I am on here to find a life long love and those more reveling images should be left to in person and not exposed to the world of eyes. i know that some women feel more alluring doing this, but I believe it cheapens them. Sadly, the styles of today leave little to the imagination and I Seek someone for who they are not for the vessel that contains them. | |

Although I am talking to a few interesting guys, there are a few people who have contacted me looking for a random hookup or they're just creepy. Some are just plain annoying because they see the picture and don't care enough to take the time and read the profile. I know that visually seeing someone is important, which is why I have the pictures up, but still... | |

You have somehow figured out a way to determine if someone is a nice person, or one that is going to chew you up, just by looking at a picture of them? If you have, your good, especially with the poor photo software that is used on this site. Hell I cant even tell what color eyes half the women have by looking at their photo's. | |

There are a number of reasons why this might be. It's their choice, really.
Visual attraction is human nature.
I would think though, that if you have a picture up, you're more likely to get someone to contact you, as compared to not. | |

If you pass on someone because of no pic, you might me shortchanging yourself. But, that is your decision. Good luck with all your fishing to everyone, picture or no picture. | |
