| The pain of Bursitis Posted: 4/12/2009 6:50:05 AM | I've had flare ups before, but for the last 3-4 nights and days the pain in this shoulder of mine is starting to drive me a little batty. Doesn't help my mood much that it is my casting shoulder, thus no time on the water this long weekend.
Any helpful hints for some pain relief or speeding up the process of mending???

| The pain of Bursitis Posted: 4/12/2009 11:41:36 AM | | I've had bursitis in my shoulder and hip. The pain is unreal. Try acupuncture. A really good one can ease your pain and get you moving again. | |

| The pain of Bursitis Posted: 4/12/2009 8:25:44 PM | I have it in my knee after falling in 2006. I fell off the damn curb >.< Didn't brace my with hands, just WHAM on the pavement, all my weight on my knee.
It flares up every once and a while if I put weight on it in juuusst the wrong way and man, takes me a good week to get over it. I tried Celebrex and it didn't work; doctor said to just give it time and she was right.
I can only suggest some RICE when it flares (Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation) and if that fails, alternate hot and cold. Rest seems to be the best for it, gives the inflammation time to dissipate.

| The pain of Bursitis Posted: 4/13/2009 7:12:15 AM | | I injured myself in the gym and failed to get treatment so it turned into bursitis. I have gone to physical therapy and it works until the treatments are over and then it flares up again. I find light shoulder exercises actually keep the pain away. Its when I don't exercise that it comes back. My theory is that you have to keep it moving. There are rainy days when it just flares up and I take Advil. | |
