| Women who think you're hot
Posted: 4/14/2009 1:45:05 PM | I have a couple of comments and a question about the ``women who think you're hot'' feature.
Is there a detailed explanation of how that works? (Since I already know a few other algorithms are secret for some reason, a simple yes or no will work. I won't nag anyone for a reason.)
The reason I ask, is because the list of women that it magically pulls out of thin air have nothing in their profiles that would indicate they would find anything about me alluring, (and vice-versa, but I'm aware of the disclaimer on that my interest in them.) In fact, while trying to figure out how this list was divined, I noticed that the women mentioned nothing that would indicate I might be alluring and many if not most definitely found me unalluring if their mail settings which excluded me are any indication. To the best I can tell, my most alluring traits according to the oracle are: (1) I'm male; (2) I'm alluring to those women because I'm mainly interested in women who are younger than they are who live a lot closer to me than they do; (3) I'm alluring because I can't contact them.
In order for this feature to be useful to me at all, I'd have to know what the results really mean. Right now, I'd trust it more as a ``women who don't want to talk to you'' feature.

No. And a lot of people find it just as inaccurate and useless as you do. It's just another page of pictures for people to choose from. | |

I'd love to know the criteria the site uses. I'd understand it better if the site sent me an email saying something like " You've viewed this woman so many times, we suspect that you are jacking off looking at her. Therefore, we reckon you think she is 'hot'.....so we've told her!" | |

It's knowing that your face is appearing on somebody's page that you have nothing in common with, with them thinking that you're thinking they're hot.
Specially if they don't know how the feature works and they think you picked them or something.
As far as the reasons those people are chosen, no one knows for sure. I know that when I had "not single/not looking" on my profile, my "hot" page was filled with picture-less mostly married men looking for intimate encounters.
When I complained, Admin responded that the feature was divided into married and single and that "NOT looking/NOT single" fell under the married category somehow.
Which is why I changed my status back to "divorced" even though I'm not looking - not that I look at that page but I didn't want to appear on their page:)

I agree, this feature is useless and nothing more than a pain in the butt. I see the hot chicks that "find me hot" only by some advanced mathematical algorithm, only to find out they live on the other side of the country. | |
