| The shaving craze Posted: 4/14/2009 3:46:51 PM | | I never shave, I trim though to keep things neat. No need to have the shine of baldness down there, everything is just as easy to find with trimmed hedges. | |

| The shaving craze Posted: 4/14/2009 4:21:41 PM | | We can attribute this to the porn industry and probably fashion industry for setting certain fads when it comes to hair removal. Just as it was sexy for a man to have hairy chests in the 80's its not so today. People used to have mullets and wear hammer pants- now we don't- hopefully. Fake boobs were in, now real boobs are back. All trends come full circle. I'm sure the pubic hair thing will come back someday too. And if you like it au natural then why not communicate this to your partner. I am sure that many women would be open to growing it out for you. | |

| The shaving craze Posted: 4/14/2009 4:23:59 PM | | I hate having body hair!!! I like when everything is soft and smooth, just a preference. I think it looks better and feels better when its freshly shaved. | |

| The shaving craze Posted: 4/14/2009 4:27:24 PM | i like for things to be soft and clean...i just feel like having hair feels dirty, no matter what....thats just my opinion. even though i know its no more dirty than keeping it shaved, its just a preference

| The shaving craze Posted: 4/14/2009 4:58:39 PM | See, my preference is for a woman to have a little 'flair down there'. To me, and maybe it's my Catholic upbringing, but the reason I like it is because the actual genitalia is something that's supposed to hidden in a naughty fashion. Even when in the nude it's still being concealed and now the man really has to explore to find the woman's most secret places!
Thankfully that trend is being reversed and hair is on the way back! If your lady likes to keep it clean so to speak, what I always suggested to my former loves was to let me do the maintenance for her, and eventually broached the subject of those nifty and oh-so-fantastic stencils that you can get at your local dildo palace to make little designs down there! It really makes a woman feel worshiped!
True story: One of my ex's who would only keep it totally 'Telly Sevalis' despite my offerings to pamper her recently told me that she now allows her current beau to do these things to her and admitted that she had been missing out when she and I were together.
F*ckin' amazing! But yeah, recommend the pubic cookie cutters for fun!

| The shaving craze Posted: 4/14/2009 5:08:12 PM | | I don't shave... can't as it causes me to break out in a painful rash that lasts for weeks. If I decide to go nekkid down there I'll go and pay the sadist to rip it out for me. It can be orgasmic in the right situation.. hehehe.. don't ask. Normally tho I'll just clip it.. or do a half-and-half... leave the hair up top/front and remove the down below bits. Good compromise, wouldn't you say?? | |

| The shaving craze Posted: 4/14/2009 5:10:33 PM | Well I am in California where shaving, getting a bikini wax or having a close trim is very needed since we are in bathing suits or shorts much of the year. And have friends in Florida, Hawaii, France, Greece etc who wouldn't be caught with pubic hair showing.
Remember some women are much more hair abundant in pubic areas. If you meet a woman and you prefer she not shave, speak up.

| The shaving craze Posted: 4/14/2009 5:32:38 PM | Well, go to a lingerie store - I'm sorry to say this, but I would not feel very sexy with bush sticking out of every side of those sexy panties I picked up to get the room all steamy with my man - You can be certain, most men wouldn't find that all too appealing either...
I personally feel cleaner with shaving/waxing, and I'm sure that's why a majority of women do it too - I also think it's being mindful to my partner, I have floss in my bathroom cabinet if he's got food stuck in his teeth...I also expect some maintenance by my partner on his part, because, again, intimacy is not found by using his body hair to clean supper out of my teeth...
You're not the only man on Earth who prefers women unshaven...But, try to think of it from a female perspective - In those pretty silky underwear you boys like, it gets awfully warm as it is, you add an inch of hair to that and it's a sauna in your pants, and not because the man is making magic with his smile...

Just as it was sexy for a man to have hairy chests in the 80's its not so today
Shoot -- I didn't know that!! I'm blonde but hairy--should I shave it?
|
| The shaving craze Posted: 4/14/2009 5:53:16 PM | Well, think of it more this way... hairy chests are not as 'sexy' today as opposed to when Tom Selleck was running around Hawaii mostly because the television says it isn't.
Like everything else, it's all about perspective.

I am of French decent and I blame that heredity for my hairiness. Honestly it is just easier to get rid of it all rather than trying to tame the forest. Yes, forest. Bush is just too tame a word for my growth. If I quit shaving, I could be a hair fetishist's wet dream.

| The shaving craze Posted: 4/14/2009 6:35:09 PM | I kind of like a man with a hairy chest...................does that make me outdated then? | |
|
| The shaving craze Posted: 4/14/2009 7:03:01 PM | Mmmm I love a hairy chest. Ok, actually...I just plain love men's chests. LOL Generally though I enjoy having hair to touch and play with. Quite the turn on, really.
I prefer guys to not shave down below, maybe trim if he wants to. Although if a guy wants to shave his parts, I'm not going to get all mad about it. I don't care that much.
As far as on me? I take care of that area in the way that makes me most comfortable. Feel the "prettiest", so to speak. LOL I would certainly take a partner's preferences into account, although overall I'm gonna do what works for me.
LIke, I'm not gonna grow the hair out on my legs and armpits just b/c a guy likes hair on 'em. ICK. He'd just have to deal w/me shaving those areas... But, hey, if he likes hair on legs, well, I might go a few extra days b/t shaving just for him. See, it's all about the compromise. (I'm joking because seriously, what guy would want a woman w/hairy legs)

| The shaving craze Posted: 4/14/2009 7:55:32 PM | This talk of shaving and not shaving has reminded me of that Boost Mobile commercial. The one with the girl with the very long flowing armpit hair, lol.

If her armpit hair is that long, kinda makes you wonder about her pubes, doesn't it?

HERE, HERE!.. I concur! SO many women attached to the Matrix. Cut yer hair off. Die what's left blond. Shave. I, too, wonder: where are the women with self content that don't allow Cosmo and the moving picture box to have so much influence on thier lives?

Then why don’t you shave your head, eyebrows & eye lashes?
That question is also to any other women who are “shave crazy” down there.
It might seem rhetorical. But it’s also a legitimate question.
Yes it is part because of the porno industry.
I also think it is recent phenomena. A zeitgeist or a meme. It’s been “fashionable” for the last 10 - 20 years tops. I remember opening dirty magazines in the late 80’s and early 90’s and lots of the models had atleast a "moderate" to "natural full growth" amount of hair. Lately it’s been the opposite. Shaved and a few with barely moderate amount of pubic hair.
I don’t understand it. A trim and washing/shampooing your body there is nothing wrong with.
I just find it odd that women who shave their “private” region won’t shave their heads when they make the claim that they like things “clean and soft.”

Hmmm... good thing all my GF's in the past 10 years still love my hairy chest... and everyone told me they hate the hairless look.

| The shaving craze Posted: 4/14/2009 10:12:09 PM | | I think it is trivial. There are so many more important issues between two people than if she has a shaved sl*t or not. It makes no difference to me, I will happily go down on a furry patch as well as a bare one. | |
|
| The shaving craze Posted: 4/14/2009 10:37:11 PM | It's a fashion trend. You see just about as many people sporting a mullet today as have an untamed bush. To each his own. The cycle is bound to turn again.
Personally I prefer a woman to be trimmed, shaved or waxed. I hate the look of razor burn, and it can't be comfortable for her either, so if she's prone to that, a nice trim is fine (excuse the pun). It's a matter of taste - literally - I prefer to taste her and not hair.
I think I was an early adopter in the realm of pubic hair removal. Back in the mid to late 80's when I became sexually active, if I suggested I'd like it if a girlfriend shaved, there'd be a lot of giggles and blushing. It was kind of taboo and exciting back then.
One undeniable positive just occurred to me. Back in those same mid to late 80's, I remember a lot of people talking about "crabs" - pubic lice. Condoms don't help you there, folks. The rumors would float around... "So-and-so's got crabs! Stay away from her!" This fashion trend may just eradicate a filthy pest if we're lucky!
