| What is most important to talk or think about? Posted: 4/14/2009 6:48:07 PM | What is the #1 topic that people should focus on and why? Is there definitely a #1 or is it entirely impossible to define the #1 most important topic to talk or think about?

If I had to choose, I would say the most important thing to know (not just talk or think about) is that we are all connected. Maybe we'd stop destroying ourselves if we just got that...

| What is most important to talk or think about? Posted: 4/14/2009 8:19:37 PM | Tha'ts quite a situational question.
No single thing can be the focus of our attention for any predetermined period of time. Life is interesting (and at times risky) for this reason.
If you're referring to causes , with so many to choose from , it's really up to the individual to decide. If anything is important though , remember that it's always your cause and not anybody else's no matter how much you may want to make it that way.

| What is most important to talk or think about? Posted: 4/14/2009 9:09:18 PM | I was going to say the most important thing to talk about is whether Pikachu is cuter than Jigglypuff. But then I remembered how important it is to finally resolve the pirates vs. ninjas debate.
If you picked pirates, good luck with that.

| What is most important to talk or think about? Posted: 4/14/2009 9:14:30 PM | I changed my mind.
I think the most important thing to talk or to think about is wouldn't it be better if instead of just sitting here, talking, thinking, talking, thinking, we'd get op off our butts and actually produced something?

To determine the question, we must build the largest, fastest, most complex computer AI in the history of the Universe. Mice will provide most of the funding.

| What is most important to talk or think about? Posted: 4/15/2009 1:10:56 AM | It has been said never talk about religion or politics. The issues that are envolved are important. I would add science to the mix. These are things which should be discussed.
So the important stuff is what we believe, and why we believe what we believe. (religion-philosophy.) And how we should live and live with others. (polictics-philosophy.) And what are the important things in life? What do we know?(science-philosophy.)
We label our beliefs, as to type of beliefs. But it comes down to what we believe and why.

| What is most important to talk or think about? Posted: 4/15/2009 4:05:13 AM | oldsoul. I was going to say "how to be more kind" and see that you got here first.
I think the most important topic is relates to what can we do to improve the quality of life (not the duration of it). Learning how other people might feel, increasing our awareness of what others might find hurtful or helpful is most useful as it enables us to behave in a way that has less of a negative effect and more of a positive effect on people around us.
And there is so much to learn!

| What is most important to talk or think about? Posted: 4/15/2009 10:42:27 AM | It's an open church of course... And each to their own.
But I reckon if people stopped to think about the Future, and discuss what possible kind of future that they would like for themselves, their children and their children’s children etc, then this World would be a FAR better place.
Actions ALWAYS have consequences. And you only have to look at our bloody History to realize that we always seem to have a woefully pitiful grasp on such a simple concept.
The day we learn Lessons and apply them to make positive changes for the Future, is the day Humanity finally wakes up and takes a long hard look at itself in the mirror.

| What is most important to talk or think about? Posted: 4/15/2009 12:44:44 PM | | Isn't improving the quality correlating to improving the duration? If you want to have a really good time, you could get wasted and high on drugs, but burn out abruptly. So theres a balance there. If we can figure out a way to stay healthy until 100 years old, that would be interesting. To the guy who wants money, go become a priest and start your own church. To the guy that thinks I have a problem for asking this, you have a problem for answering like that. I actually don't have a problem aside from not having any problem to solve. I just wanted to see if anything interesting came up. This is a sad board today. | |

I changed my mind again. I think that the #1 topic that people should focus on and why ought to be "what is the #1 topic that people should focus on and why?"

| What is most important to talk or think about? Posted: 4/15/2009 10:25:36 PM | Lets talk about the ultimate path of least resistance for everything. I am tired and stressed out so much recently. I need an option for everything to be set on automatic soon.
BTW, ninjas are still way in the lead. http://incredimazing.com/static/media/2008/03/24/6fee530ffd18d26/ninjaswithguitars.jpg
EDIT: Holy crap, I just found out about wizards. Nevermind them ninjas.

But if it was, how would you know? Would you let yourself stop running in the hamster wheel long enough to find if all the running was still necessary or not? Is the running for the sake of the wheel really, or for you? Don't let yourself burn out -- too much stress has horrid consequences.

Your definition of a *good* life and my definition of it are worlds apart! That's part of what makes it difficult to make choices that others experience as being supportive rather than destructive. A good life isn't just about being high, it's (to me) about becoming who you are: tuning in, not tuning out. Maybe, anyway.
