Posted: 4/16/2009 11:44:25 PM | Just read a few strings on guys (mostly) complaining about having no luck on internet dating sites.
So it sounds like women should have an easier time to find a match (if she's looking for a relationship). BUT... the stories I've heard recently were all of guys finding their matches within 1-3 months online! Granted, those guys really made an effort to write thoughtful messages, follow up w/ phone calls, going on dates, etc. They later zeroed in on one fish and catch it and never look back!
I don't think guys should be discouraged. After all, guys do have the advantage of the age old tradition of pursuing what they want. | |

Posted: 4/17/2009 6:32:23 AM | | i've been here about 3 and a half months and have been on acouple dates with 2 diff women, although it didn't really go anywhere so I don't consider them catches, we just didn't connect really but as people they were okay & I still talk to them here and there, To be honest I'm not getting the results I desire but I'm not the type to cry and give up eaither, I will defenitly find someone awesome sooner or later or they'll find me one way or the other | |

BAIT: It is hard to beat the nightcrawler for baitfishing men.
HARDWARE: Spinners, jigs and other minnow imitators work well for baiting men.
TECHNIQUE: Again, I like to fish for men with nightcrawlers. I'm patient and I fish carefully and with accuracy. However, sometimes I disturb the man pool and I have to move on to another site.
I take this very seriously. Seriously I do and I'm a serious member.

Posted: 4/17/2009 8:41:23 AM | Hey gals - just how long does it take for a WOMAN to find a man on this site? I've been on for 3 or 4 months, answer all my emails, been on about 10 meetings. And of those 10, mostly didn't look at all like their pictures, but even so, no interest or compatibility. My girlfriend gave up and just declared that all the good ones are already married. I find that hard to believe, but maybe I'm wrong.
I also don't initially write to guys..tried a few times and got no replies...so figured I'd just wait to hear from those who think they might like me and write to me first.
So how long DOES it take for a woman to find a decent man? -still fishing | |

If you read the "testimonials" some people have met "the love of their lives" or their "soul mate" hours after creating a profile.

I love how ALL the burdens of expectations are placed on the MEN.........LOL. Do we really have to put in ALL that work, just to find a decent women?? What repsonsibility do women have to bear??
I don't know about where you live, but in my area, the ratio of men to women is about 3 to 1. Maybe closer to 4 to 1, I haven't looked lately. As a woman seeking man, I like those odds. | |

I have just as much to offer and give as anyone else, and feel as though I'm just an equual catch as the next person. Now if I did find someone with all the personality traits and qualities that I look for then yes of course I would do my best to attract them. But without knowing this about someone there is no way I'm going to lay out the red carpet for someone who could very well turn out to be dragon in disguise. | |

Still, you need tons of patience for these sorts of sites, you can exchange messages and seem like you are getting along fine, but then nothing.
It's sad, because you begin to raise your hopes a bit but what can you do, just keep on trying. | |

Posted: 4/20/2009 3:43:35 PM | A week is average, but when I'm really looking for someone, I can usually get a response within a day or two. I find it best to get to know one woman at a time. If I get "LJBF" after a date or two then I know it's time to move on to someone else.
The point is to see if there's any chemistry, and if so, then I can pursue further. | |

Posted: 4/22/2009 5:01:46 PM | Took me about 2 weeks for the first one. Then I slowly got better at it. Averaging maybe 1-2 a week now. There are many approaches to it, you can be slow and detailed or confident and quick. It's a numbers game, that's all it is.
