I would like to invite,all my fish friends. To join me in Daniel Boone National Forest for a weekend of camping and hiking.
October- 2-3-4
Rain or Shine Adults Only
You will need a Parking Pass per vehicle. You can buy these at the Shell gas station, when you get off the exit. They also have a water if you need to fill your jug. This is a primitive campsite,with two Port -O - Lets. (Bring your own paper ) Campers are welcome, but no hook ups.
Fishing - Our campsite is on Indian Creek. Stocked with Rainbow Trout.
Four Wheelers - Lots of Trails down the road from our campsite.
Dogs are welcome, but must be leashed.
Beverage of choice - This is a dry county. Please keep your beverage in a cup. The Rangers could make it hard on everybody. This is very important!!!!!! Thank You.
Food - Your on your own.I will have a fire set up for cooking.
During the day we break up in groups for hiking. Or we just chill at the campsite.
Most cell phones do not work in red river gorge.For Emergencies contact the Gladie Learning Center. 606-663-8100. Our location is 9b indian creek.
Directions- From Cincinnati. 75 south to Lexington Ky. Take 64 east to Mountain Parkway.( If your coming west on 64. There is no Mountain Parkway Exit.You must go to the Winchester exit and head back east on 64 to Mountain Parkway) Take Mountain Parkway to the Slade exit. (Natural Bridge State Park ). Left off exit. 100 yards take left on Ky 15 . Take Ky 15 about 2 miles to Ky 77 on right. (Nada Tunnel Rd ) Take road thru tunnel.( Be careful,one lane tunnel ) After tunnel,you will come to an Iron Bridge.After crossing make a left on gravel road.kY 613 Follow road to the first gravel road on right.Follow that road till it splits. Go right. 3 miles, campsite on right.Look for Port - o - Pottys. This is very easy to find. 2.5 hours from Cincinnati.
Directions for larger r.v or camper: Follow directions above to MTN PKWY. M.P to the Stanton exit. Take left of exit. 300 yards to route 15 ( light ) take a right.follow about 5 miles to route 613 on left. go under M>P take a right at t. follow 613 for about 8 to 10 miles. indian creek is on the left. i suggest you go to google maps .put in stanton ky. follow the route i have suggested so you can see the distance.
RED RIVER GORGE IS 369.000 ACRES SO THERE IS SOMETHING FOR EVERYBODY.
REMEMBER THIS IS PRIMITIVE CAMPING,SO BRING WHAT YOU NEED. THE CLOSEST STORE IS ABOUT 10 MILES.
WHEN THE SUN GOES DOWN THATS WHEN THE PARTY BEGINS. BRING YOUR MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS FOR A KILLER JAM SESSION.
THERE IS TWO PORT-O-LETS WITH FLUSHERS.MIGHT WANT TO BRING YOUR OWN PAPER.
AND THE MOST INPORTANT THING IS A COMFY CHAIR FOR THE CAMPFIRE Following Members are Attending This Party... Average Member Brings Along 3 Guests

Not quite primative, but really nice down there. BBL will look like the Hilton!!! I can't wait for this trip, but we have a lot of camping to do before then | |
